Derby County v Manchester United Predictions
Championship Derby County take on Premier League Manchester United at the iPro Stadium on Friday evening in the FA Cup Fourth Round and I have three FA Cup betting tips to give you a winning start to the weekend.
Derby were looking a sure bet for an automatic promotion spot but recent results have seen the Rams drop to fifth in the Championship table. Paul Clement's men have not won in five league games, losing the last two. Their home form has been excellent this season but they lost 3-0 to the visiting Birmingham City and last time out lost 4-1 away at Burnley. To be fair, Derby didn't play as badly as the score line suggests, but defensive errors played their part as they succumbed to their promotion rivals.

United themselves aren't playing particularly well, but their defeat to Southampton last weekend was their first loss in six. However, the calls for the head of manager Louis Van Gaal will get even louder if they fail to progress here.
Derby sneaked past Hartlepool in the Third Round tie, a late Darren Bent goal seeing them through. They made changes to their side for that game but Clement has said he will play his strongest possible squad for the visit of United. Will Hughes, Craig Forsyth and Jake Buxton are all out but Bent could start up front.
United were pretty awful in their Third Round clash with Sheffield United, only an injury time penalty from Wayne Rooney stopped it from being an embarrassment. Their injury crisis doesn't look like subsiding any time soon either, Marcos Rojo, Antonio Valencia, Luke Shaw and Ashley Young are all still missing and Matteo Darmian, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Phil Jones and Michael Carrick are doubtful.
This, like most FA Cup games, is pretty tough to predict. Both teams are stuttering and whatever the result is it wouldn't be a surprise. However, I'm edging towards the away win. On the rare occasions United have played well this season and got a result it's been when they've faced attacking sides who fancy their chances against them, particularly when they've been away from Old Trafford. I'm expecting Derby to go at their opponents and attack and I think that will play into United's hands. I'm going for the away win in 90 minutes but it will be tight.

First goalscorer tips – Wayne Rooney has been criticised and lauded in equal measure this season. Before the Southampton game, the United captain had scored five in four games after a barren spell and for me he's the man most likely to score for his side, particularly as he's first choice penalty and free kick taker.
