Today’s Accumulator Tips

Atletico Madrid to beat Las Palmas

Atletico are the form team in Spain and another victory on Thursday night in the Copa Del Rey, showed that their brief blip, losing to Malaga was very much a one off. They travel to Las Palmas on Sunday and it’s likely Antoine Griezmann will be back in the starting 11. Simeone has instilled a new defensive philosophy in his side which makes it very difficult for opposition players to create chances or put balls into the box. It’s working wonders with Atleti taking 21 points from their last eight matches and only conceding three times on the road. Las Palmas have been on a good little run of late, beating Betis and Granada at home, but this is a step up and they’re going to find it hard to get past that defence.

Getafe to beat Espanyol

Getafe are a decent home outfit; they are tough to beat here. They’ve lost just one of their last eight games and that was at the Bernabeu and they also find themselves in the top eight of the La Liga form table. 18 points have been collected from 10 home games which includes a hard fought 1-0 victory over Real Betis here last weekend. Espanyol are the visitors and they have a poor record on the road. Four straight defeats on their travels is not the ideal preparation coming into this and they’ve collected just six point away all season. Espanyol have scored just three goals in their last seven matches, so it’s not hard to see where their problems lie.

Juventus to beat Udinese

This one seems a little obvious, but the more winners we have, the greater the bonus from William Hill. Juventus are on the march after a slow start to the season and they’ve won all of their last eight games. They’ve also only conceded five goals in that time and they are looking like real title contenders. It was close against Sampdoria last weekend when the home side briefly threatened an unlikely comeback but the Bianconeri held on. Udinese have picked up six fewer points on their own patch than the aforementioned Sampdoria, so this should be easy enough for Allergi’s side. It’s been a mixed bag for the home side this season, but they’ve lost three of their last five matches and beat Atalanta and Torino by just a single goal. It will be an uphill task for them here.

Lazio to beat Bologna

Lazio have had two great results on the road recently, bringing their unbeaten run home and away to four. With just three goals conceded during that four game period, they have seen off Fiorentina and Inter Milan. It’s a real coup taking all three points back from the San Siro. That was just Milan’s third defeat of the season and a feather in the Lazio cap. Bologna’s form has gone in the opposite direction, they’ve lost their last two home matches, limping to a disappointing 1-0 defeat at home to Chievo last time out. They’re a hit or miss side, who very rarely end up sharing the spoils, just a single draw all season. Despite some decent wins on the road for Bologna, I feel as though Lazio’s confidence will be high.

NEC Nijmegen to beat Willem II

NEC are a decent home outfit, but they’ve not had a lot of success on their travels. Luckily they are on home territory today as they face Willem II. The visitors picked up some very impressive results before Christmas which moved them away from the relegation zone. They had a sequence of winnable games though, beating FC Twente, who are in disarray, seeing off strugglers Cambuur and drawing with ADO Den Haag. They will be a tough nut to crack here, but I think NEC’s home form can see them through. At the Goffertstadion, they are unbeaten in seven, winning five of those with their last success coming against high flying Feyenoord. Both of these sides are in-form, but the incentive for NEC to move up to 4th is greater and I think they will win here.

Arouca to beat Moreirense

Arouca have moved up to 7th in the Premeira Liga in Portugal after a run of just two defeats in eight. One of those was a narrow 0-1 loss to Sporting CP and they look good to extend their winning home run to four here. Moreirense had been playing well, but it’s all gone pear shaped in the last couple of matches. They’ve now conceded nine goals in those matches against Maritimo and Guimaraes. At home, Arouca have seen off Estoril, Boavista and Maritimo and should have enough to extend their unbeaten run to five. They’ve only conceded 19 goals this season and with the problems at the back for their opposition, they should be able to net a few here.

Sporting Braga to beat Nacional

It’s no win in six now for Nacional and hosting Sporting Braga isn’t an enviable task as they attempt to root out three points. They have had some difficult fixtures here, losing two of their last three against Sporting and Porto, but they could only manage a point against Arouca back at the start of 2016. Sporting Braga were involved in a terrific match last weekend, losing 3-2 to Sporting, despite holding a 2-0 lead at one point. They’ve only lost four times all season and two of those came at the very start of the season. They need to turn draws into wins to be real challengers but they should be able to get all three here against an out of form side.
