PSG v Bastia – PSG (-2) Handicap

We know all about the strength of PSG, particularly at Parc Des Princes where they have been exceptional this season. They hit five past Lyon last time here and although their opponents are horrendously out of form, they were unstoppable going forward. Bastia sit in 16th place and have a mixed record this season. They have never won here and won’t break that record this time around. On their last visit to the capital, they lost 2-0, but shipped four before that. Bastia were recently held to a 1-1 draw with Troyes, a club who have been struggling all season and who recently conceded four to Laurent Blanc’s men. PSG have scored 11 goals in their last three matches and should easily cover this handicap.

 

Exeter v Liverpool – Both Teams to Score? Yes

Exeter have got a plum draw in the third round of the FA Cup with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool visiting St James’ Park. The trouble for Paul Tisdale’s men is that they aren’t very effective in front of their own fans. They haven’t won here since the 21st of October, which was a 1-0 win over Cambridge. It is noticeable that defending is their downfall here as they have been scoring with both teams scoring in five of their last six matches at home. They lost to lowly Dagenham (under new management) 1-2 at the weekend and I think we could see a similar scoreline here. Exeter will be up for this and the dapper Tisdale has confirmed this. Liverpool may be tired after their exertions against Stoke in midweek and Klopp may ring the changes. This may create an exciting, open, end to end game.

 

Bourg-Peronnas v Creteil – Bourg-Peronnas win

It’s been a poor run for Creteil in recent weeks. Just four points since the end of September and their last win coming on the 23rd of October. They face Bourg-Peronnas here and it may be a long evening for them. Bourg-Peronnas have been defeated just three times at home this season and although they were defeated here by an in-form Red Star last time, I think they can bounce back. They beat Paris FC and Niort here recently, the latter beat Creteil on the 18th of December. They were beaten convincingly by AC Ajaccio last time out away from home, the sides only win in five. Although it’s short, Bourg-Peronnas should be able to compile more misery on their opponents here.

 

Nimes v Brest – Both Teams to Score? Yes

Our final accumulator tip comes from French Ligue 2 as well as Nimes are the hosts at Stade Des Costieres. The home side have struggled with their defending of late and haven’t kept a clean sheet home or away since the 11th of September. They have only won three times, but recently held Le Havre to a 2-2 draw here which is a very credible scoreline. It shows they can score against sides towards the top of the table as they also found a way past Dijon in the 1-1 draw earlier in the season. The stats may show that Nimes don’t score a lot of goals, but both sides have found the net in four of their last six matches and in five of the last seven. Although Brest have failed to net in two of their last three away matches, they should be able to find a way through the home backline and they lost their last match 1-2 to in-form Clermont.
