Brighton v Wolves predictions and football betting tips for the Friday afternoon fixture in the Championship kicking off at 3pm.
It took until December for Brighton to be beaten, but then two came in quick succession as Ipswich came away from the AMEX with all three points on Tuesday evening, can they bounce back and beat Wolves on New Years’ Day?
Brighton v Wolves Preview
Chris Hughton’s side have had a tremendous season so far and I’m sure they will continue to add points to their current total, but their thin squad is becoming a problem. The Championship is a slog at times, particularly around the festive period with games coming thick and fast and although it’s the most wonderful time of the year, it’s easy for players to pick up knocks or niggles. With Solly March out and Kazenga Lua Lua a long term absentee, they’ve lost plenty of flair from the side.
Take nothing away from Ipswich, it was their 5th consecutive away victory and they fought hard for the three points. Brighton are now without a win in their last five games and they face a rejuvenated Wolves side.
Kenny Jackett was feeling the pressure at Molineux, but it’s two wins in a row now for the men in gold. A 1-0 win over Reading was perhaps a little lucky, but the 2-0 victory at the Valley against Charlton was well deserved and Jordan Graham continues to show why he is linked with a transfer away from the club in January.
The early-season Nouah Dicko injury didn’t help matters, but it’s been a stop-start season for Wolves and they will relish the opportunity to put together a hat-trick of victories.
In their last five games, Brighton have drawn three away from home, but lost their home matches. The home crowd will be urging them to get back on track and they’ll be hoping Gordon Greer is back to partner Lewis Dunk. Connor Goldson is a decent deputee and was signed with the future in mind, but Benik Afobe is a handful for any Championship defence and Goldson and Dunk may have a busy afternoon here.
Brighton v Wolves Predictions
Although the Seagulls were unbeaten for a large proportion of the season, they did draw plenty of matches and the total stands at 11. I think this could be number 12. With the away side Improving and Brighton desperate not to make it three losses in four, they may cancel each other out.
My first Brighton v Wolves prediction is for the match to end a draw. The best odds for Brighton v Wolves to be a draw are 12/5 at Bet365.

Normally, this is the kind of game in which you would assume both teams would find the net. But, Wolves have now kept two clean sheets in a row, something they’ve needed to work on. Brighton have now failed to score in three games, even though Bobby Zamora hit the post against Ipswich, they’ve been a little goal shy.
The second Brighton v Wolves prediction is for Both Teams to Score? No. It’s Even money with Paddy Power.

James Henry scored the winner against Reading on Boxing Day and he’s now scored three times since the end of November. He’s also scored for Wolves twice on the road, against Rotherham and Ipswich. He could net again.
The third football betting tip for Brighton v Wolves is for James Henry to score anytime. The best odds for this tip are 6/1 with Betfred.
