Premier League predictions for Stoke City v Crystal Palace this weekend and the best three football betting tips for Saturday’s 3pm kick-off.
Stoke welcome high flying Crystal Palace to the Brittania Stadium on Saturday as they look to continue their run of good firm and I’ve got three football tips that will take your fancy.
Stoke City v Crystal Palace Predictions
Stoke may be 11th in the table, but they’re only three points off Palace who sit in sixth and a home win could see them move into the top half. They’ve only lost one of the last six in the league, a defeat away to a revitalised Sunderland side. Since then they put in a magnificent performance in their victory over Manchester City and gained a good point away at West Ham.
Palace boast a similar record, also losing just one of the last six. Last time out they beat Southampton at home who couldn’t cope with the pace and power of Wilfried Zaha, Jason Puncheon and Yannick Bolasie. Yohan Cabaye and James McArthur also caused problems with their runs from deep so Stoke may have to line up differently to make sure they don’t get overrun in midfield.
Having said that, the Potters possess some great attacking players of their own. The trio of Xherdan Shaqiri, Bojan and Marko Arnautovic tore City apart (pains me to say as a Blue). Mark Hughes is sweating on the fitness of Shaqiri, who provided both goals in that one for the superb Arnautovic. He scored twice but should’ve scored four, City had England number one Joe Hart to thank for keeping the score down. If he puts in a similar effort in this one, he’ll get on the score sheet for sure which leads me onto my anytime goalscorer tip.
I’m betting on Arnautovic to score anytime for my first Stoke City v Crystal Palace prediction, get on it with Stan James who are offering 3/1.
It’s just tough to write Palace off at the minute. They got a great point at Everton a fortnight ago, battered Newcastle and last week as I mentioned before put in a great performance in their win over Southampton. Alan Pardew has got them playing some great stuff, and defensively they’re hard to break down. Some might say this could be a case of both defences holding out for 90 minutes for a 0-0 but for me there’s too much attacking prowess in both teams for that to happen.
