The first of two League Two televised encounters on Sunday starts in Devon as Exeter host Stevenage and our tipster has picked his three best football bet tips.
Exeter v Stevenage Predictions
Both these sides are difficult to get a real handle on this season. Exeter beat Portsmouth 2-0 away, they also thumped unbeaten Leyton Orient 4-0, but they could only draw 1-1 with bottom club Mansfield, conceded four to Accrington and lost to AFC Wimbledon. They have a very young team, who are incredibly tight knit and are led by one the games smartest and most respected individuals – Paul Tisdale.
They have a minimal budget to play with and the fans recently raised money to sign Joel Grant for the club. They are a club that many other sides can take lessons from, they are run the right way and have an impressive academy which has recently produced Matt Grimes, who moved to Swansea and is one to watch for the future.
Stevenage leapt from the aggressive intense leadership of Graham ‘Call me a winner’ Westley to the slightly more thoughtful approach from Teddy Sheringham. The former West Ham striker hasn’t had the smoothest passage in his first job in management and he recently said ‘No more Mr.Nice Guy’ was his approach. It seemed to work for a short while as there was an upturn in results which including beaten promotion candidates Plymouth, but they’ve recently slumped to four straight defeats in the league and Teddy is under a little pressure. Two home defeats to Carlisle and Mansfield without scoring won’t exactly keep the fans flocking back to the Lamex and they need to turn it around quickly.
Ben Kennedy is a prospect for the future, but he may be blooded too soon, playing week in week out. Chris Whelpdale has a wealth of experience as does Mark Hughes at Centre Back, but perhaps there is too much inexperience in the line-up. Brett Williams hasn’t much experience above Conference level, Whilst Jamar Loza and Tom Conlon haven’t exactly been around the division for years.
The trouble is, Exeter will be looking to bounce back from their derby defeat in the cup to Plymouth and they may take it out on Stevenage.
David Wheeler is another being scouted by clubs higher up the pyramid and he is putting in some decent performances. Tom Nichols who was scoring week in, week out earlier in the season, has been restricted to appearances from the bench. Lee Holmes, Manny Oyeleke & Arron Davies are all decent at this level and should get the Grecians moving.
Paul Tisdale will not let his side lose two on the bounce and they should be too tough for Stevenage.

Exeter have goals in them and tend to score at home. They put four past Leyton Orient here and then on their travels, they put two past Accrington, despite conceding four. They’ve scored twice or more in all but one of their victories this season and I fancy that run to continue here.
