Manchester City go into this one after getting back to winning ways following their Capital One Cup victory over Sunderland on Tuesday night. In the Premier League, their winning streak came to an end against a determined West Ham side last weekend though the Blues will feel aggrieved coming away with nothing after battering the Hammers goal for the entire second half.

 

Tottenham got their first home league win of the season against Crystal Palace. They’ve not been playing badly this season although they haven’t picked up as many wins as they would’ve expected. City have been breath-taking in attack this season with the additions of Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne. The new boys have been linking up well with Sergio Aguero and with the wizard David Silva due back that front line looks frightening. Aguero has a great goalscoring record against Spurs. He put five past them in the two games last season and has scored 10 against them in his City career so far. He is probably playing at about 50% of his capabilities so far this season and doesn’t look match fit but a half–fit Aguero is still one of the best strikers in Europe. I think the Blues will leave White Hart Lane with all three points for my match prediction. City have beaten Tottenham in eight of the last nine meetings, scoring 28 goals in the process. However, I do see Spurs getting on the score sheet too. Heung-min Son has had a great start to his career in England, he’ll be looking to add to that here and with Christian Eriksen back they have players who can cause the City defence problems, particularly with doubts over the fitness of Vincent Kompany and Eliaquim Mangala.
