Football Accumulator Tips:

Ipswich to beat Brighton

We start this weekend’s accumulator with a battle between the Championship top two. You have to be impressed with Brighton’s flying stat this campaign considering last season’s flirt with relegation. They have won three out of four so far all by the odd goal but I think that they will find it more difficult to do the same this week. Ipswich have started the season in fine style and look like they are serious promotion candidates. Last season’s play off defeat along with seeing arch rivals Norwich in the top flight will spur them on and few teams will come away from Portman Road this term with any points. Manager Mick McCarthy has experience of winning promotion to the Premier League and this is the kind of match where he will be expecting three points to get our accumulator tip off to a winning start.

Walsall to win away at Blackpool

Walsall have started this season in fine form and currently sit second in League One. They have won their last five matches in all competitions and that includes victories against Coventry, Notts Forest and Brighton. They are flying under the radar in this division and have could have a really good campaign and they should have more than enough to beat troubled Blackpool. The tangerines are having an awful couple of years. Relegation from the Championship last season and bottom of league one this term. They will be hoping for a change of fortune but come up against a confident side and I fully expect them to lose their fifth game on bounce.

Gillingham to win away at Peterborough

Gillingham are another side who have impressed in League One this season and currently sit top of the table. Manager Justin Edinburgh has his side playing some quality football and his side have already beaten promotion hopefuls Sheffield United and Wigan this term. They will be looking to do the same against struggling Peterborough. Posh are a big fish in this division but look to be a club in a period of transition. They have lost their last three matches in all competitions and have conceded nine goals in that time. They will need to improve that defence if they want to get anything against free scoring Gillingham but I think that they will struggle to do that.

Wigan to beat Crewe

After winning the FA Cup in 2013 few would have expecting Wigan to be playing League One football just two years later but that is where the Latics find themselves. The board and the fans will be expecting an immediate return to Championship football and although they haven’t started the season in great fashion they will be expecting home victories and they did win their last match on their own turf 3-0. They come up against a Crewe side whose sole ambition this term will be to avoid relegation. On their day the railwaymen can give any side in this division a good game but they will do very well to avoid a defeat in this one and I fully expect Wigan to show their class and come away with all three points.

Plymouth to beat Newport County

Plymouth have started the season in good form winning three out of four league matches so far. They are a club who will be looking for automatic promotion after last season’s play-off heartache. They are scoring for fun under new manager Derek Adams and will be looking to continue that form against struggling Newport. County will be looking to add to their single point this term but will find that difficult against free scoring confident opponents. Newport look to have a long season ahead of them and if they do manage to get a point out of this match then it will be a bonus but I’m confident that Plymouth will show their quality and bring home our winning football accumulator.
