Iceland to win away at Kazakhstan

We start this week’s football accumulator with a Euro 2016 qualifier. Iceland started this campaign in tremendous form winning their first three matches before a narrow defeat in the Czech Republic. There is no shame for any European side losing in Prague so as long as that loss hasn't dented their confidence then I see no reason why they can't get themselves back on track. They come up against a Kazakhstan side with only a single point to their name in four matches. There is no doubt that Kazakhstan are more difficult to beat on their own patch but Iceland’s motivation to hopefully reach their first ever major finals should be enough to see them through.

 

Rochdale to beat Yeovil

Yeovil have had a shocking campaign. To think just under two years ago they won the League One play-off final to reach the Championship for the first time in their history. There was no shame in their relegation at the first attempt but the hangover from that campaign just won't go away and a second successive relegation looks like a certainty. Rochdale on the other hand have had a good season and are in with a chance of reaching the play-offs. Keith Hill's men play some of the most attractive football in the division and on their day they can beat anyone in the league. Tuesday's defeat to Oldham was a disappointment but I fully expect them to bounce back with a win against the division’s bottom club.

 

Bury to beat Southend

This is a tough one to call as it is fourth versus fifth. Both teams have ambitions of being in League One next term but of the two of them Bury seem to be hitting form at just the right time. The Shakers were antepost favourites for this division and looked to be having a disappointing season up until January. Since then they have won seven of their last ten matches and are now in with a chance of automatic promotion. Southend have had a good season but have just been a little inconsistent. A run of just three victories in ten matches means it looks like the play-offs at best for Phil Brown's men. This should be a good battle between two of the league’s best teams but I expect Bury to just come out on top.

 

Barnet to win away at Alfreton

Barnet looked to have the Conference title all sewn up a couple of months ago but a poor run saw the chasing pack close in on them and they now sit just a single point ahead of Bristol Rovers. The Bee's hit form again last week with a stunning 5-0 win over relegation threatened Welling and they come up against another team fighting to avoid the drop this weekend. Alfreton have struggled all season but currently sit just the right side of the drop zone. They will be more than happy to finish the season in that position but they will struggle to enhance their chances of survival against title chasing Barnet.

 

Grimsby to win away at Welling

Since Grimsby's relegation from the football league in 2010 they have rarely threatened to return. They have had a good campaign this time around and looked set to be in the play-offs. However with the two clubs above them struggling for any consistency in the run in the Mariners have found themselves just three points off top spot and the belief that they are beginning to have in themselves should give them enough to beat lowly Welling. A run of just one victory in thirteen matches has seen Welling drop into the relegation zone. Both clubs seem to be heading in opposite directions and I fully expect Grimsby to bring home our winning accumulator.
