Liverpool to beat Burnley

Stoke to beat Everton

Contrast to the form of their near neighbours, Everton have been struggling of late. Although they boast better performances and progress in Europe than their counterparts. The Toffees were generally pretty poor in defeat to Arsenal at the weekend and it seems hard to really pinpoint what has gone wrong and how Martinez is able to fix it. Stoke might not seem an obvious choice as victors here, but they have only lost 1 of their last 5 at the Britannia and that was to Champions Man City. The injuries may be mounting up for Mark Hughes, but he still has some decent players at his disposal and with Romelu Lukaku still a bit of an enigma and the out of form Ross Barkley and the benched Kevin Mirallas not at their best, the Potters could take advantage.

 

Birmingham to beat Blackpool

It may seem like an obvious pick, but as a beleaguered Blackpool fan, I watched my team conceded 4 goals and 42 shots in their last away game and it wasn’t a pretty site. That was to Brentford, a side who were overturned by Birmingham at the weekend, so I don’t hold much hope for the Tangerines. The Seasiders have pretty much been down since the first ball was kicked and even though Lee Clark claimed a win over his former employers when these last met, that was when there was hope for Blackpool and they were playing at sandpit Bloomfield. Should be a comfortable victory for Birmingham to follow up their 3 points on Saturday.

 

Norwich to beat Wigan

Another fairly obvious one, but Wigan are still 9 points adrift whilst the Canaries are making a late assault for the title. Their tails will be up after a fantastic East Anglian derby win and I can see them having too much for the Wigan defence. The Latics didn’t look free flowing against Blackpool, but it was a much needed 3 points and they will be looking to catch Millwall and Rotherham, but I can see them coming unstuck at Carrow Road.

 

Sheffield Wednesday to beat Blackburn

Sheffield Wednesday got a terrific, if not unexpected victory over Middlesbrough at the weekend and they could add to it here against Rovers. Stuart Gray has kept his side under the radar and they have been performing well to establish a top half position. Blackburn haven’t won in their last 5 away games and whilst Wednesday haven’t set the world alight at Hillsborough, they can kick on from their victory at the weekend and seal 3 points here.
