Nevertheless, LVG has reverted to playing Wayne Rooney as a striker again. The world and his mother could see this was what needed to happen, and the decision paid off with the England captain notching twice in the 2-0 win over Sunderland. With doubts over the fitness of the withering Robin van Persie, Rooney seems set to continue in attack with Ramadel Falcao tonight.
In years gone by, this would have been an away banker. These days, I just cannot trust Manchester United, especially at such short odds. United have drawn eight games this season, and seven of those have been away from home. Although they beat Sunderland at the weekend, they lost away at Swansea the week before and were very fortunate to pick up four points in their matches against Burnley and West Ham.
