Football tips for a 4-fold football accumulator picking the winner of the Premier League, Championship, League One and League two for 20/15/16.
It’s that time of year where we assess the chances of every team based on their signings and last season’s performances. It’s always great fun, but tricky to predict the winner of each league, but we think we might stand a chance with our football accumulator.

Top 4 Divisions Accumulator Tip:
Premier League – Chelsea
Yes, it’s boring to predict last year’s winner, but I honestly can’t see past the Blues. The reason is Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese manager is astute and knows the league and the opposition inside out. He may not have splashed out and bought whole new squads like some of the others, but his reasoning is that he knows how to get the best out of his current crop of players. Asmir Begovic has arrived as a back-up goalkeeper and whilst less is known about Nathan, Kenedy and Pantic, it’s fair to say Mourinho won’t have wasted money; despite it being plentiful in West London. Falcao is an interesting one, he could be a clever signing or he could add further evidence to the suggestion that he isn’t cut out for the Premier League.
Man United will be a lot better this season, but Man City will still encounter the same old defensive problems and I predict Chelsea to come top of the pile once again.

Championship – Middlesbrough
Derby are favourites, but I’m going to look beyond them and go for last year’s Play Off finalists. Boro’s defence was stingy last season and it was awfully hard to score past them (apart from the 4-3 reverse to Fulham) but they lacked goals. Patrick Bamford has gone, he shouldered the goalscoring burden and it was evident how much they struggled with him being unfit in the play-off final. IF they sign Christian Struani, they should have enough firepower to send them back to the Premier League. Stewart Downing will create chances and should still be plying his trade in the Premier League and Boro just need someone on the end of them. Kike will score a few, but isn’t consistent enough. They have Downing, Reach, Adomah, Carayol & Tomlin to create chances, which is a frightening thought for any opposition.
Middlesbrough 7/1 to win the Championship William Hill.
League One – Wigan
3 weeks ago, I would not have tipped Wigan for an instant return to the Championship, but they have been splashing the cash around and as long as rookie manager Gary Caldwell can hit the ground running, they should be successful. They have a decent nucleus of a squad and they have just added Michael Jacobs, who impressed on loan at Blackpool in the Championship last season. He should have a decent League One season whilst promising young goalkeeper Richard O’Donnell is helped by Donervan Daniels from West Brom whereas Craig Davies will help lead the line. Sanmi Odelusi always looked quick and skilful at Bolton in his brief cameos whilst Will Grigg has shown what he can do at MK Dons. There is optimism surrounding the squad and they can bounce back at the first attempt.

League Two – Portsmouth
There are so many teams that believe they can achieve promotion this season and many have spent big in order to try and confirm that. Portsmouth are the usual favourites in the market, but I believe this could actually be the year they do it. They finally have an experienced manager who can get the best out of players. Paul Cook dropped down a level from Chesterfield to manage the South Coast club, he surely thinks it’s a worthy gamble. He took the unfancied Spirites to the play-offs and he has added to his squad with great aplomb. Gary Roberts could easily grace League One, whereas Kyle Bennett and Kai Naismith are wingers who like to chip in with goals as well as assists. Matt Tubbs will score goals and in defence Enda Stephens arrives from the Premier League to play alongside the wily and experience Paul Robinson. They will be very difficult to beat.
