Tonight’s Accumulator Coupon Tips:

Reading v Bournemouth – Bournemouth win

Bournemouth are an obvious pick for this fixture, but it’s because Reading are poor at home that it should be a given that the Cherries pick up 3 points. Eddie Howe’s men march on and did a very professional job on a dogged Brighton side on Friday night and they can’t afford to drop points here. Reading have been better on the road this season and whilst they aren’t 100% mathematically safe, the sides below them aren’t consistent enough to catch them. They haven’t won any of the last 5 games and Steve Clarke will oversee a lot of chopping and changing over the summer months. They have only won 1 of their last 5 home games and with the threat of Yann Kermogant, Callum Wilson and the many runners from midfield, they will probably struggle to contain their South Coast opponents.

Middlesbrough v Wolves – Middlesbrough win

Wolves were going great guns until they ground to a halt against local rivals Birmingham at the weekend. They were the form team, but couldn’t get it together and proved vulnerable at the back once again (they’ve previously conceded 3 goals to Leeds). Middlesbrough haven’t fared well against the top teams, struggling against Bournemouth and Watford, but both of these were away from home and they are a different animal at the Riverside. An accomplished 2-0 win over Rotherham should and could have been more, but they don’t concede many on their home turf, only shipping 11 goals on their own patch, which is the best in the division.

Chesterfield v Colchester – Chesterfield win

Chesterfield need the points to keep up their push for the play offs. They’ve won 4 of their last 5 games and a draw with Barnsley was by no means a disgrace at the weekend. Colchester are at the other end of the table and have been in decent form themselves, but haven’t been able to escape the dreaded dropzone as of yet. Under Tony Humes, they are assembling a good young side, but midfielder David Fox has picked up an Injury and is a doubt for this. The Spireites have recently defeated all of the Essex clubs relegation rivals (Crewe, Walsall and Yeovil) and impressively won at Bradford and should have too much for Colchester here.

Preston v Gillingham – Preston win

Preston have only lost 1 game in the last 15 matches and look surefire promotion material. They drew 1-1 with Bristol City and they look set to follow the Robins into the Championship. Simon Grayson knows what it takes to get out of this division and they look impressive from back to front. Joe Garner gets the goals, backed by Paul Gallagher and the imperious Daniel Johnson and they don’t concede many goals marshalled by Bailey Wright and Tom Clarke. Gillingham have improved under Justin Edinburgh and are safe in the knowledge they will be playing League One football next season, but they won’t be able to see of Preston who will give us another leg of tonight's accumulator tip.

Stevenage v Portsmouth – Stevenage win

Moving from Graham Westley’s former side to his current one, Stevenage are looking for a return to League One and they are well positioned in the play offs as things stand. They have such an impressive home record this season that I can’t see Pompey back by their strong travelling support getting anything at the Lamex. Pompey are comfortable mid-table but their away form is abysmal and they should struggle against a team who are physical and get in the faces of their opponents. The former Premier League side couldn’t beat midtable Morecambe at the Globe Arena at the weekend and they shouldn’t cause Stevenage too many problems. The Hertfordshire side have won 13 matches on their own patch.
