Stoke ended a nightmare run of three successive 3-0 defeats when they went to Dean Court and beat Bournemouth 3-1. It was an impressive performance from Mark Hughes' men, in particular from record signing Giannelli Imbula, and the Potters have their best Premier League points total at this stage of a season, equal with last term.
Aston Villa ruined Valentine's Day for half of Birmingham when they were absolutely destroyed by Liverpool. A 6-0 thrashing, and in truth it could have been more, abruptly ended any optimism Villa fans had of staying up after only losing one in five and beating relegation rivals Norwich City. They're 8 points adrift at the bottom of the Premier League and with Everton, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur their next three things are looking grim for Remi Garde. They need a miracle.
Stoke have players returning from injury for this game. Ryan Shawcross, Phil Bardsley, Geoff Cameron, Marc Muniesa and Marko Arnautovic could all play a part in this one but Charlie Adam is out and Glen Johnson is unlikely to be fit after coming off injured in the win over Bournemouth.
As for Villa, Gabriel Agbonlahor, Jack Grealish, Rudy Gestede and Carlos Sanchez should all make this but Libor Kozak and Adama Traore are out and Jordan Ayew is serving the last of his three match suspension.
Stoke have a pretty good record against the Villans, losing just twice in the last twelve meetings between the sides. Villa have only won once away from Villa Park this season and that came back in August. With Stoke having ended their poor run in fine style there's only one winner for me and they'll be goals in this too.
