Real Madrid v Wolfsburg predictions and betting tips for the Champions League quarter final second leg on Tuesday 12th April 2016, kick off time 7:45pm.
Real Madrid have work to do if they're to progress into the semi-finals of the Champions League as they welcome Wolfsburg to the Bernabeu and our football tipster has three bets for this one.
Real Madrid v Wolfsburg Predictions
The shock of the round happened at the Volkswagen Arena last week as Wolfsburg beat clear favourites Real by two goals to nil to give themselves a great chance of going through. The Real we saw beat Barcelona in the El Clasico were nowhere to be seen in Germany and the home side really could have gone on to win more convincingly. It sets up a fascinating second leg, can Real produce a comeback and qualify for the Champions League semi-final?
They got back to winning ways in great style in La Liga against mid table Eibar, goals from James Rodriguez, Lucas Vazquez, Cristiano Ronaldo and Jese easing Real to victory to go second in the table. A perfect response and a good way to warm up for this second leg where they might have to score as many goals to stand a chance of progressing.
Wolfsburg could only manage a point at home to Mainz after going down to ten men in that Bundesliga match as, understandably, their focus is on trying to get into the semi-finals for the first time in their history. What an achievement it would be if they manage it, and I reckon they stand a chance…the stats are on their side too, only twice have sides failed to progress after being 2-0 up from the first leg.
Gareth Bale, Toni Kroos, Marcelo and Danilo were on the bench against Eibar and Keylor Navas and Luka Modric were left out altogether with Zinedine Zidane having one eye on this crucial second leg. All are expected to be recalled to the starting 11, with the exception of Danilo who had a torrid time in the first leg, for this one along with Karim Benzema who is expected to recover from a knee problem. For Wolfsburg, Daniel Caligiuri is a doubt and Dieter Hecking is definitely without Sebastian Jung.
I think Real will win the game for my football betting tips, whether it’s enough to go through is another matter. An away goal for Wolfsburg would mean Real will have to score four, and whilst they have the players capable of doing so it will be incredibly difficult. They may not concede at all, they’ve yet to concede at the Bernabeu in the Champions League this season, but they’ll be in danger of getting caught on the break with players like Julian Draxler and first leg goalscorer Max Arnold more than capable of causing damage. My first Real Madrid v Wolfsburg prediction is both teams to score, you’ll find the best odds at bet365 who are offering 3/4.
Best odds for both teams to score – 3/4 at bet365 (register get £200 free).
If my first tip comes in and Wolfsburg do get on the scoresheet Real will have to score at least four to go through. Whether they manage it or not remains to be seen, but I do think they’ll be plenty of goals in this one. My second Real v Wolfsburg prediction is for there to be over 3.5 in the game, get on it at 8/11 with Ladbrokes.

For my final Real Madrid vs Wolfsburg tip, I’m going for an anytime goalscorer prediction double bet. Decent odds are difficult to come across in this one but I think Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale to score anytime is worth a shout at 21/10 with William Hill.
