QPR vs Brentford Betting Tips and Predictions – 12/03/16

QPR vs Brentford predictions, betting tips and preview of this weekend’s Championship fixture including a team to win tip and anytime goalscorer bet.

It’s a West London derby on Saturday afternoon as Brentford travel the short distance to Loftus Road. Our football tipster has got the best bets for the weekend clash.

QPR v Brentford Predictions

With Fulham, QPR and Brentford all in the Championship this season, it feels like there is a West London derby every other week. But there’s been some really terrific contests this season and QPR have most certainly played their part. They are the hosts here as they welcome (still) out-of-form Brentford to Loftus Road.

The R’s have been frustratingly inconsistent all season and their last eight games are testament to that. Three wins, three draws and two losses coming into this match. But their fans would rather that than Brentford’s record of five losses, one draw and two wins.

Dean Smith’s side haven’t been playing well for about a month and a half now and perhaps the lack of additions in the January transfer window could be partially blamed for this. They lie in 17th and whilst they are a good eight points above the drop zone, they will want to reach 50 points as soon as possible.

Six places above, QPR have only accumulated four points more than today’s opponents but have won three of their last four home matches and been victorious here seven times this season.

In contrast, Brentford have lost their last three away games, conceding nine goals and scoring just one. Admittedly, Sheffield Wednesday and Brighton are far from easy places to go, but the defeat at the New York Stadium to Rotherham was a disappointing one.

They need to tighten up at the back as they’ve conceded in each of their last 10 away matches. James Tarkowski has left for Premier League bound Burnley, but they still have the making of a solid backline. They will have to cope with the trickery of Matt Phillips and Junior Hoillett amongst others here and that could be a difficult ask.

QPR lost to Fulham in their last West London derby and they will be looking to bounce back from that disappointment. It’s the only time they’ve conceded in their last four home games and it was an uncharacteristic collapse from Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s side.

Brentford have kept just a single clean sheet since Boxing Day and Dean Smith will be looking to double that tally for 2016, but it’s looking difficult to back his side with any authority.

They’ve lost five of their last six away from home and their only victory was at Griffin Park against Wolves. QPR having won three of their last four home matches to nil are the best bet for this match. So my first QPR v Brentford betting tip is for QPR to win.

QPR’s propensity to keep a clean sheet at home is worth backing. Brentford haven’t netted in two of their last three away matches and JFH instilled a similar sturdiness in his Burton side in League One. I think they can keep a clean sheet here. My second QPR v Brentford prediction is for Both Teams to Score? No.  The best odds for both teams not to score in QPR v Brentford are 11/10 at Betfred.
