Preston made the headlines last weekend during their defeat against Sheffield Wednesday with Jermaine Beckford and Eoin Doyle making a name for themselves for fighting…with each other. The two Preston strikers have since apologised and the fine implemented was used to pay back the travelling fans. Simon Grayson says he was ashamed of the duo and they will both miss this match through suspension which leaves the Lilywhites with a sparse selection of forwards to choose from. They haven’t won in three games with their last victory arriving at Rotherham on the 5th of November and Blackburn have been closing the gap recently. Rovers have been improving under Owen Coyle as they look to clamber out of the relegation zone. They’ve overhauled Cardiff, moving onto 20 points and are looking far more dangerous each week. They could only draw at home to Huddersfield last weekend, but it continued their unbeaten stretch with just one loss in five. Danny Graham and Sam Gallagher will always be a threat and it appears as though they’ve finally found a settled back four. They beat the leaders Newcastle in their last away outing and aren’t the soft touch of August and September.

Preston vs Blackburn Team News
As mentioned earlier, Jermaine Beckford and Eoin Doyle will miss this tie through suspension following the double sending off at Hillsborough. There are a number of other injury issues for Simon Grayson including John Welsh, Aidan McGeady and Paul Gallagher, the latter is the most likely to return.
A few defenders remain absent for Rovers with Adam Henley, Elliott Ward and Tommie Hoban all still out, but that’s about it. Ben Marshall returns to the side.
Preston vs Blackburn Head to Head
The away side was victorious in both meetings last season with Blackburn winning 2-1 here around 13 months ago – Jordan Rhodes netting the winner. Preston won 2-1 at Ewood Park. Blackburn had also been victorious in their previous visit here back in 2001.
Preston vs Blackburn Betting Odds
Preston start as favourites for this, trading at just over Evens. 11/10 is generally the price available. Blackburn can be backed at around 3/1. The draw will be popular and can be backed at around 11/5 with many bookmakers. It’s expected to be a cagey game with 8/13 the price available on Under 2.5 Goals here.
