The third and final televised Championship game takes place on Sunday as new boys Preston face play-off finalists Middlesbrough and we have picked our three free football tips. The Teessiders went ever so close to reaching the Premier League and will look to bounce back from that disappointment. It will be an interesting match-up and should be an entertaining game.

Patrick Bamford has returned to Chelsea and has been loaned out to a Premier League club this time around. It’s a big blow for Boro, but they have signed Christian Stuani and they’ll be hoping the Uruguayan can fill the void left by the departing loanee. Stewart Downing is the big news in Boro, his arrival from West Ham is a bit of a coup, but there’s a blow with the loss of Lee Tomlin to Bournemouth.
Aitor Karanka has had the backing of Chairman Steve Gibson and he will expect nothing less than promotion this time around. They have plenty of width in the form of Albert Adomah, Stewart Downing, Adam Reach and the returning Mustapha Carayol. Kike will be hoping to add a few more goals to his tally from last season.
46 games stand between Middlesbrough and the Premier League and they begin at Deepdale.
Preston almost blew their chances once again of making it to the Championship when they lost to Colchester on the final day of the season. Perhaps nerves got the better of them, but they progressed in style in the play-offs with Jermaine Beckford playing a vital role.
They are deserving of their place in the division and will be hoping to kick on and stabilise their presence in the 2nd tier. Simon Grayson is an expert at guiding teams to this level, but hasn’t proved himself in the Championship yet, this is his opportunity.

Although Boro ran a tight ship at the back last season, they might struggle to contain Joe Garner and Jermaine Beckford.
