Brentford v Bristol City

Both of these sides have hit form recently and it was just at the right time as both are now safe enough. There are 10 points between Bristol City and the drop zone, but they are scoring too many goals to fall back into League One. Brentford have starting scoring again and Lasse Vibe is a man in form. They are the 6th highest scorers in the league and have hit three goals in their last three matches. Six of Bristol City’s last eight games have had over 2.5 goals and Lee Johnson’s side are playing decent attractive football. I think both these sides are deadly enough going forward and there should be a few goals in this one.

Chesterfield v Sheffield United

It’s not far to travel for Nigel Adkin’s men this weekend as they visit the Proact Stadium. They missed so many chances against Gillingham at the weekend and I was impressed with how much they created. If Billy Sharp or Che Adams can get on the end of one or two of them, they should grab a few here. Paul Coutts looked very lively and could be the provider of a few chances here. Chesterfield are no slouches though and have been fighting for their lives. Back to back wins though have propelled them away from the danger zone and they’ve now hit six goals in their last two matches. They have started finding their scoring touch and this one could be lively.

 

Bristol Rovers v Yeovil Town

Bristol Rovers are in a good position for 2nd place behind already promoted Northampton. The Gas have had an excellent season under Darrell Clarke and have been scoring goals for fun. The Memorial Stadium has been a good source of goals in the past few weeks as they put three past Wimbledon, Crawley and Cambridge. Yeovil are safe, but haven’t been great away from home recently. They lost 3-0 to Cambridge and although they might not score here, it’s worth considering that Rovers could cover the Overs here on their own. They’ve hit 14 goals in their last five matches and I can’t see that run ending here.

 

Exeter v Northampton

It’s going to be party time down at St James’ Park for those Northampton fans that travel for this match. Northampton secured their rise to League One with a 2-2 draw against Bristol Rovers and it was their third 2-2 draw in succession. They’ve been decent going forward but less consistent at the back recently. Four of their last five have gone over 2.5 goals. Exeter have been in decent form themselves winning four of their last five and will probably find a way past the Cobblers. Three of their last six have gone over 2.5 goals and I think there will be goals here.

 

Portsmouth v Plymouth

This one is the highlight of the League Two fixtures this weekend. It should be a packed stadium on the South Coast for this match-up between two sides vying for promotion. Plymouth have been slipping of late though and conceded twice to Wimbledon last weekend. Portsmouth hit four against Dagenham last weekend and have been finding their scoring touch. They have so many decent forward players to choose from and Paul Cook’s side have goals running through them. The Pilgrims last three matches have all gone over 2.5 goals and this one should go the same way.
