It’s the penultimate day of the season in the Football League and there’s much still at stake. We’re hoping for goals across the board for our weekend over 2.5 goals accumulator tip.
Saturday’s Over 2.5 Goals Betting Tips
Bristol City v Huddersfield
With both these sides safe following the relegation of MK Dons, they will be able to play with plenty of freedom. Huddersfield are much more entertaining under David Wagner and it’ll be interesting to see if he can take them to the next level in 2016/17. Lee Johnson has had a huge impact since arriving at Ashton Gate and they’ve been more of a threat in the final third. They’ve scored 50 goals this season, but 30 of them have been here and their last two matches have ended 2-3 and 4-1. Huddersfield have scored 57 and conceded 61 this season and their matches average 2.7 goals a game. Although this will have an end of season feel to it, there will be players looking to impress their managers ahead of next campaign.
Leeds v Charlton
Another one from the Championship as already relegated Charlton take on Leeds. Leeds have improved remarkably recently, but have left it far too late. With Chris Wood in the side, they’ve been firing of late and have netted nine times in their last four games. It means that each of those matches has also gone over the 2.5 goals mark. Charlton have been involved in some high scoring games this season, but it’s usually them that receive the tonking. They conceded three to Brighton last time out, but offered plenty of attacks of their own. 14 of their 22 away matches have gone over 2.5 and I fancy they’ll make it 15 in West Yorkshire.
Rochdale v Swindon
Spotland is the venue for Rochdale v Swindon. It’s looking increasingly difficult to Keith Hill’s side to make the play-offs now. It would need an incredible set of results to turn it around, but they’ve had another solid season and they’re decent here in front of their own fans. 39 of their 64 goals have come here and they beat Blackpool 3-0 recently. Four of their last five matches here have gone over 2.5 goals and with Swindon’s questionable defence, it looks like we might see an exciting game on Saturday. Swindon will play their part – they’ve been awful recently and can be thankful their poor run started so late in the season. 24 of their 44 games so far this season have had three or more goals and I think this one could be a decent watch.
Shrewsbury v Peterborough
Shrewsbury lost in midweek and Mickey Mellon blamed himself for the defeat. They gave it a damn good go in the second half though and that will give Shrews fans hope that they can get out of this. They have plenty going forward, but cannot defend to save their lives. They’ve shipped 10 goals in their last 5 matches and managerless Peterborough have plenty of players with talent and the ability to hurt teams. Graham Westley was given the boot on Saturday and it’s always an odd one waiting to see how a team respond. With Marcus Maddison, Jon Taylor and Ehrun Oztumer in the side, they are bound to create plenty of chances. Both these sides sit towards the top of the Over 2.5 goals with 28 of the visitors’ matches having three or more goals.
Exeter v Morecambe
Morecambe are top of the Over 2.5 goals table in League Two as they spent the first half of the season scoring and the second half conceding. They have slid down the table alarmingly recently and they will look to put that right in Devon. Exeter have been decent recently, but have had some difficult games losing to Bristol Rovers and Mansfield whilst holding Northampton to a draw. Three of their last five matches have gone over 2.5 and they should have goals in them. They also have defensive lapses occasionally and with Shaun Miller and Tom Barkhuizen looking to pounce, we could see a few goals here.
