Over 2.5 Goals Accumulator Tips
West Ham v Swansea
Anybody who thought Swansea had broken up for their summer holidays were proved wrong on Sunday when the Welsh outfit stuck three past Liverpool. It’s not been the best season for the Swans, but they’ve got over the line and are in the Premier League once again next season. They can play with a little more freedom now and five of their last seven games have gone overs. Albeit because they were on the wrong end of some heavy defeats. They haven’t kept a clean sheet on the road since the 28th of December and it’s hard to see them doing so here. West Ham are playing their penultimate match at the Boleyn Ground and they’ll want to go out in style. They’ve seen their last seven consecutive matches feature over 2.5 goals and eight of their last ten. It’s impressive stuff and they’ve hardly been goal shy of late. They’ve not been beaten since the start of February and are targeting those European places.
Preston v Leeds
Plenty of matches in the Championship with an end of season feel about them. This will be a prime example. These sides are already thinking ahead to next season and their summer activity. Leeds were in decent form until the weekend when they lost to already relegated Charlton. It was another goal-fest and Leeds’ 5th consecutive match with three or more goals. They’ve scored 10 goals across their last five matches, but haven’t kept a clean sheet in any of them. In fact, it will be almost two months exactly since they kept a shutout (away at Cardiff) Preston started the season defensively sound, but they ended the season without a clean sheet in two months. They have goals in them though and have only failed to score twice in nine games, against Burnley and Middlesbrough. Two sides who could be in the Premier League by the end of play.
Huddersfield v Brentford
Another match in the Championship which is an end of season kick around. Brentford have been much improved in the latter part of the season and got their own personal triumph last weekend by putting three past Fulham. It’s great to see Scott Hogan back and scoring after his injury nightmare. They should be able to find a way past Huddersfield who have only kept three clean sheets since the beginning of January. Under David Wagner, The Terriers are much more exciting to watch and have forward players who can terrorise opposition defences. Brentford have only kept three clean sheets this calendar year, two of them at home. Six of their last eight games have gone over 2.5 goals and apart from their recent away defeat to Hull, they’ve scored in each of them. Two attacking sides meeting in West Yorkshire should result in goals.
Bristol Rovers v Dagenham
Bristol Rovers need the victory here and hope the other slip up in the process. They have plenty of goals in them and with the in-form Matty Taylor, they should find a way past already relegated Dagenham. The away side are planning for life in the National League next season, but have had a resurgence and have hit six goals in two matches. They’ll make a game of this and should give Bristol Rovers plenty to think about. Eight of Bristol Rovers’ last nine games have featured three or more goals and with the need for points and possible goal difference improvement here. Dagenham still have defensive problems and three of their last four have gone over 2.5 goals.
Morecambe v York
Another of the relegated sides in action for the last time in League Two. It’s been a poor season for York and they face a trip across the Pennines to the Globe Arena as their final outing. Morecambe’s recent form suggests that the Minstermen can end on a victory here. But, it’s goals we’re looking for here and their last four matches have all gone over 2.5 goals. These weren’t all high scoring affairs for the opposition and York have only failed to score once since the beginning of March. Morecambe have had a dreadful collapse and could have been relegated if it wasn’t for their good early season form. Prior to their 1-1 draw at the weekend, their previous six had all gone over 2.5 goals and I think we’ll see a few goals here in the Morecambe sunshine.
