Millwall v Oxford Predictions
Oxford are having a season to remember, they were cup heroes on Sunday beating Premier League Swansea in the story of the FA Cup 3rd round and Michael Appleton looks set to guide his side to a promotion contest in May. They will have to ensure they hold onto their key players though, with the vultures circling over Callum O’Dowda and FA Cup hero Kemar Roofe.
The first leg begins at the New Den where they face League One Millwall. The Lions have had a decent season, although a few inconsistencies have crept in recently. One explanation could be the fact that Neil Harris has assembled a young team, who are talented and bubbling with enthusiasm, but perhaps lack the big game nous.
These two teams are only a division apart now, but haven’t crossed paths since 2003. Millwall slipped out of the Championship last year and are vying for an instant return whilst their opponents have been back in the Football League since 2010-11 and have largely treaded water in League Two since then.
Millwall beat League One rivals Southend to reach this stage of the competition whilst Oxford squeezed past strugglers Yeovil.
The men from the Kassam don’t lose often, they have been defeated just twice since the middle of September, with both Wycombe and Barnet surprisingly collecting maximum points from them.
The home side don’t often draw, they have either won or lost in their last 13 games (Seven wins/Six losses), they tend to struggle at home though, having been defeated in their three consecutive matches in front of their own fans. Their inability here coupled with Oxford’s performance against Premier League opposition pushes me towards backing the League Two side on the Draw No Bet market.
My first Millwall v Oxford prediction is for Oxford Draw No Bet. The best odds for this betting tip are 6/4 with Sky Bet.

Millwall have conceded a goal in four of their last five matches in the league and six of their last eight in all competitions and I think they will here. They do have plenty of firepower though and with Aidan O’Brien signing a new contract, Steve Morison finding his shooting boots in recent weeks and Lee Gregory in the side, they should be able to make the Oxford defence sweat. Although they were victorious in both, Oxford have conceded twice to both Notts County and Swansea and might find Millwall’s frontline a handful.
My second football tip for Millwall v Oxford tonight is for Both Teams to Score? Yes. It can be backed at 8/11 with Bet365.

And finally, the aforementioned Kemar Roofe has been on red hot form recently and is hard to back against. He will surely be keen to put himself in the shop window over the next couple of weeks and perhaps inflate his price tag. The former West Brom youngster must be one of League Two’s signings of the season and he could net again here.
My third football prediction for Millwall v Oxford tonight is for Kemar Roofe to score anytime. He can be backed at 5/2 with Ladbrokes.
