Man City v West Brom Betting Tips and Predictions

Manchester City v West Brom betting tips and Premier League predictions for this weekend’s Premier League fixture on Saturday 9th April at 5.30pm.

Manchester City host West Bromwich Albion at the Etihad on the Saturday evening kick off live on Sky Sports and our football tipster has got the best three bets.

Man City v West Brom Predictions

City will be buoyant after a fantastic 2-2 draw away at PSG in the Champions League on Wednesday night. Manuel Pellegrini has insisted his team stay focused as there is still the return leg to come, but they have put themselves in a fantastic position to progress to the semi-finals. They cannot rest on their laurels in the league however, with teams hot on their trail in the chase for the last Champions League place.

They play at 17:30, so they’ll know some of their rivals results before they kick off, which may or may not work in their favour. I would have expected some changes to the starting XI from Pellegrini, but I don’t feel like he has that capability and will also want to enter the home tie with PSG with confidence. Also with them already having their travels out of the way, it’s not as if they have large distances to go to between now and the second leg. They got back into winning ways by impressively beating Bournemouth away 4-0, and I expect them to win again against West Bromwich Albion for my football tips.

West Bromwich Albion are safe. Their sole target each season is to be safe and hit the 40-point mark and they’re already there. Whilst Tony Pulis might ask them to push on now and see how many points they can accrue, they don’t have anything to play for, and I think it will show in this match. They have only scored 11 goals away from home and I don’t think they’ll have enough going forward to trouble City, even with a shaky defence. They have failed to hit the back of the net in back to back games now, losing 1-0 to Norwich and drawing 0-0 at Sunderland, so they’ve already proven that when playing teams with something to fight for, they aren’t performing as well as their opponents.

My first Man City vs West Brom prediction is for Manchester City to win to nil. I think Pellegrini will be keen to work on his defence in preparation for the return of PSG, and whilst the West Brom attack is nothing in comparison, a clean sheet will definitely boost the fragile minds of his defenders, as they have been given a lot of stick this season. Bet Victor are offering 11/10 for City to win to nil.

My second Man City v West Brom prediction for this weekend’s Premier League match is James McClean to be shown a card. He’s hot headed and reacts very quickly to opponents when they goad him. He isn’t one to shirk a tackle and loves trying to get into the minds of other players. Referees are on to him however, and when he leaves his feet in tackles, it gets noted. Sky Bet are offering odds of 5/2 for him to be shown a card, and given his record, they’re excellent odds.

My final Premier League prediction for Man City v West Brom is for Sergio Aguero to score first. He’s going to want to score at least a goal in this match to get prepared for the Champions League showdown next week. Paddy Power are offering 13/5 for him to score first and for those who are confident in him like me, he’s 14/1 with Betfred to get a hat trick.
