Hull City v Bristol City predictions and football betting tips for this weekend’s Championship fixture with the best three football tips.
Amongst the 3pm kick offs, Hull City look to get their promotion campaign back on track as they host Bristol City. We’ve got the best bets for the match.
Steve Bruce’s side haven’t had the best few weeks and they look to try and collect maximum points against Lee Johnson’s resurgent Bristol City.
Hull City v Bristol City Preview
Lee Johnson left Barnsley in a decent position in League One before jumping ship to Bristol City. Since joining the Robins, there’s been an upturn in results and in style of play. A few more wins and Bristol City can start planning for life in the Championship next season.
They face a tough task as they visit Humberside to take on Hull City. The Tigers have stumbled of late and it can’t be easy with speculation that Steve Bruce could be the next Aston Villa boss if Hull don’t achieve promotion. They’ve been victorious just twice in the last eight games and haven’t won any of their last four home matches, they haven’t lost any of them either.
Hull’s recent penchant for drawing here has pushed them back in the promotion race and defeat at Middlesbrough last time out was a huge sucker-punch. They still have the joint best defence in the league and I can’t praise Michael Dawson enough this season. He’s been vitally important to the backline which has conceded just 23 goals all campaign.
They have been lacking goals though and they created plenty against Boro two weeks ago without properly testing Dimi Konstantopolous. Abel Hernandez has been on the bench as the goals have dried up for the striker. He needs to rediscover his form urgently if they are claim that second place in the Championship and avoid the play-offs.
Bristol City sit in 19th and have won three of their last four away matches and five of their last eight games both home and away. They have started scoring plenty of goals and will be confident after hitting Bolton for six before the International Break. They don’t draw very often and it’s 11 away games since it ended all square.
They have the experience of 37 year old Arron Wilbraham, who has played 41 times this season and is still cutting the mustard at Championship level. He has just triggered a new clause in his contract and even if he features less next season, his knowledge and nous will be absorbed by the other players.
The loan market has been important for Bristol City with Lee Tomlin coming in and impressing and Adam Matthews recently joining the club from Sunderland. Time will tell whether Peter Odemwingie can add some Premier League quality to the side.
Hull vs Bristol City Team News
There are few injury worries for the visitors as Korey Smith remains the only player sidelined. The midfielder has been absent since the end of February and won’t be rushed back to fitness by manager Lee Johnson. Adam Matthews was away on International duty with Wales, but returned unscathed.
For the hosts, Isaac Hayden returns after missing out against Middlesbrough. The Arsenal defender has fully recovered and is expected to take his place back in the team here. The majority of the Hull side is settled but Abel Hernandez could be given a start.

I’m going to take a chance on recent signing Peter Odemwingie to be the difference between the sides. The Nigerian might not have had a chance in the Premier League recently, but has scored goals throughout his career. My third Hull City v Bristol City betting tip is for Peter Odemwingie to score anytime. He can be backed at 5/1 with Bet365.
