Football Accumulator Tips for Tonight

Portsmouth v Reading Under 23s Betting Tip

Paul Cook opted to rest a number of his key players in the first game of the competition and his side lost 4-3 at Yeovil. It was a topsy-turvy game, but he has bigger fish to fry as he tries to turn around his side’s poor league form. Pompey come here off the back of two defeats to Doncaster and Blackpool and Cook will probably see this game as a distraction. They have a game against Leyton Orient at the weekend he’ll have his eyes on that one. Reading Under 23s are taking this seriously, they won 3-2 at the Memorial Ground against Bristol Rovers and Jaap Stam has said he will look to play some first team players who aren’t away on International Duty. That’s a very positive reason for backing the Royals here.

Crewe v Wolves Under 23s Betting Tip

Crewe appear to be one of the Football League sides who are taking this competition seriously. They easily overcame Accrington 3-0 in the previous round and another win would pretty much guarantee their progression to the next round. Assistant manager James Collins has said that they’ve done their homework on the Wolves Under 23s and although there may be a few surprises included in the lin-up, they feel as though they have a good measure of them. Wolves lost their opening game in the group despite the presence of Nouah Dicko and Ethan Ebanks-Landell. They went down 2-1 at Chesterfield and I think Crewe can get the better of them at Gresty Road.

Crewe win – 10/3 with Betfred: CLICK TO BET.

Carlisle v Blackburn Under 23s Betting Tip

Carlisle are unbeaten in the league and impressing this season. Keith Curle will not want to lose any momentum here and they beat Oldham 5-4 in their opening fixture. It was a very entertaining match and they played a strong squad. The likes of Reggie Lambe and Shaun Miller. They also played a strong backline with Michael Raynes and Tom Miller included. I would expect a few changes from the weekend victory against Colchester, but nothing wholesale. They have plenty of goals in them and I don’t think Blackburn Under 23s score enough away from home. They’ve only scored twice in four away matches and they failed to score at Highbury in the first round.

Carlisle win – 4/5 with Betfred: CLICK TO BET.

Scunthorpe v Shrewsbury Betting Tip

Scunthorpe have had a brilliant start to the season and there is something special about their squad this season. Even the players who came in for the previous round’s win over Middlesbrough (2-1) impressed. Hakeeb Adelukan, Sam Mantom and Charlie Goode will all be hoping to play some part in this match and they should get the better of Shrewbury. Graham Alexander will not want to stop the momentum that his side have and a second victory here would almost guarantee qualification. Shrewsbury lost their first match in the tournament and Mickey Mellon will once again make a few changes. Their defeat in the first round came at home to Cambridge, who at the time were bottom of League Two.

Scunthorpe win – 4/6 with Betfred: CLICK TO BET.

Wycombe v West Ham Under 23s Betting Tip

Gareth Ainsworth laced up his boots and made an appearance in the previous round of the competition, but says he isn’t expecting to do the same again here. They battered League One Northampton 3-0 in the last game and I would expect them to be strong at Adams Park again. They’ve won twice inside a week, beating Exeter and Crewe with an aggregate score of 6-1. There will be some changes for Wycombe, but they must include 6 players who started at the weekend. West Ham Under 23s lost their opening game 4-2 at Coventry. The Sky Blues were out of form at the time, but still managed to find the victory and score four times against the Hammers.

Wycombe win – 21/20 with Betfred: CLICK TO BET.
