Sevilla v Juventus – Juventus win

It’s not been a vintage Champions League campaign for Sevilla. They’ve not win since the opening matchday when they beat an out-of-form Borussia Monchengladbach. Since then, it’s been all downhill and despite an upturn in form in La Liga, this is a very difficult way to end their Champions League campaign. Juventus have won all of their last five games in Serie A with their only defeat coming against in-form Sassuolo and the free scoring Napoli. Sevilla came back from a goal down to claim a draw away at Deportivo at the weekend, but they’ve not convinced as of yet and are still showing inconsistencies. Juventus are once again displaying tremendous defensive form and they should keep the Spanish side out.

 

PSG v Shakhtar – PSG to score over 2.5 team goals

PSG are showing their class in Ligue 1 as they romp clear of their rivals. They have been held by Angers, but the 2nd place side are terrific defensively and kept Lyon out at the weekend. PSG responded by putting three goals past Nice on Friday night and they look good to get another handful of strikes here. Shakhtar showed tremendous spirit on the last matchday as they gave Real Madrid a scare, with the Spanish side eventually winning 4-3. Zlatan scored twice on Friday and Edison Cavani added another, they have plenty of players like Lucas Moura, who are not getting games and even if they start here, they should be too classy for their Ukrainian opponents and score enough goals to keep our football accumulator tip rolling.

 

PSV v CSKA Moscow – PSV win

PSV have won both of their home games in the Champions League so far and Phillip Cocu will be hoping to make it a full house here against the Russian side. Their confidence will have been boosted by two consecutive clean sheets in the Eredivisie – a 3-0 win over AZ was followed by a 1-0 victory over Vitesse. Both very decent results, considering they have lacked solidity at the back for the majority of the season. CSKA Moscow are no walkovers, but they’ve struggled lately, losing three of their last four games in the Russian Premier League and drawing the other one. Losing away at Amkar Perm and FC Krasnador is not particularly impressive form and they’ll be looking forward to the three-month break in their season.

 

Wolfsburg v Man United – Under 2.5 goals

It’s hard to believe that Wolfsburg lost at home to Borussia Dortmund at the week after their imperious run here at the Volkswagen Arena, but they need to bounce back against Manchester United. They will be glad to see that the Red Devils are not scoring and aren’t firing on all cylinders. They’ll be without Wayne Rooney again, but it seems that Louis Van Gaal doesn’t know what to do with the England captain. Wolfsburg have won both of their home games in the Champions League so far without conceding and you could see that happening again here.

 

Manchester City v Borussia Monchengladbach – Monchengladbach (+1) Handicap

Man City weren’t very effective at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday, barely mustering a shot on target. They’re going to have to improve against the German side who are bang in form. They haven’t lost since the 19th September and with Andre Schubert taking over, they’ve been completely transformed! They held Juventus to a 0-0 draw in Turin, which is a really decent result and I don’t think they’ll be beaten at the Etihad. They put three past Bayern Munich at the weekend and only conceded one. Manchester City are struggling for consistency and have won just two of their last six league games.
