Serie A Football Accumulator Tips
Fiorentina v Napoli Tip – Napoli win
Napoli have hit form recently and look unstoppable. There are several positives for Mauricio Sarri’s men including the imminent return of Arkadiusz Milik, who should be fit enough to play in January. They have also signed Leonardo Pavoletti from Genoa and he is set to dot the I’s and cross the T’s this week. Dries Mertens has been unstoppable recently and became the first player to secure back to back Serie A hat-tricks in over 20 years. He notched during their recent 5-1 victory against Cagliari and the 5-3 victory over Torino. Fiorentina must be wondering how they are going to stop the Belgian and his side. The hosts are unbeaten here, but have only scored 8 goals in 8 games and three of the four teams they’ve beaten are located in the bottom half of the table. There are doubts over the future of Paolo Sousa and Sunday’s 2-1 defeat at Lazio won’t help that speculation. They’ve been terribly inconsistent this season and could be capable of anything, but Napoli are hard to ignore in current form.
Palermo v Pescara Tip – Palermo win
Palermo pulled off one of the shocks of Sunday in Serie A with a comeback victory in Genoa. They were a goal down inside 4 minutes, but created numerous chances throughout the 90 minutes and scored in stoppage time to take all three points. They were terrific on the counter and deserved their three points. They are searching for their first home win of the season, but surely the confidence given to them by Sunday’s display can inspire them to a victory here. Pescara are struggling for form and this is the archetypal 6 pointer. The visitors have lost their last 5 away games and 8 of their last 9 in Serie A. They are playing with little confidence and if Palermo can hit 4 in Genoa, they can surely find a way past a shaky Pescara backline.
Torino v Genoa Tip – Torino win
As mentioned above, Genoa lost 4-3 in the dying embers to relegation threatened Palermo and that can’t be good for their confidence. They will have played 242 minutes of football inside 7 days with their re-arranged match against Fiorentina taking place 7 days ago. Their away form is patchy at best and they’ve failed to win any of their last 5 games on their travels. Torino are looking to snap a 3 game losing run, but they’ve faced difficult opponents including leaders Juventus and in-form Napoli. They were much better in the second half on Sunday and did find a way past Mauricio Sarri’s side three times. They have enough firepower and boast an excellent home record so they’re in our Serie A accumulator tip.
Sampdoria v Udinese Tip – Draw
Sampdoria are extremely hard to beat at home and they are looking to bounce back here after two consecutive defeats in Serie A. They’re unbeaten in 12 of their last 13 matches here with only Lazio taking away a maximum haul. Samp did make it a nervous finish for Simone Inzaghi’s side and could have nicked something from the game. They rely on their form in front of their own fans and will be keen to head into the winter break with three points. Udinese arrive in terrific form and have won three consecutive matches. They beat Atalanta and triumphed in Udine against Bologna and Crotone. They haven’t always travelled well this season, but they are playing with confidence and Cyril Thereau is scoring goals. They should get something from this match.
Roma v Chievo Tip – Roma win
Roma lost out to Juventus at the weekend despite playing reasonably well in that game. Juve are formidable at home though and restricted the number of chances for the Giallorossi. They finish the first half of the season with a home match against Chievo. There are fitness doubts over a number of key players but Mo Salah could return and his direct running could be a real asset. Edin Dzeko will fancy his chances of bagging another goal or two here. They are a short price, but have won their last 11 home matches and it’s hard to see them tripping up here. Chievo are a well organised side who arrive off the back of a couple of victories, but they lost 3-0 in their last visit to the capital to face Roma and are likely to leave with nothing once again.
