Football Accumulator Tips 3/12/16

Napoli v Inter – Inter win

This should be a cracker on Friday night. Inter travel to face Napoli in Serie A with both sides suffering from disappointing starts. Inter sacked Frank De Boer with Stefan Pioli the new man in the dugout. He started with a 2-2 draw against bitter rivals and obtained his first victory with a 4-2 success over Fiorentina on Monday. That’s 6 goals scored in 2 games and the Nerrazurri look deadly going forward. Their defence needs a lot of work, but they can outscore most sides in this league on current form. Napoli are struggling for goals. Despite numerous chances, they couldn’t finish off Sassuolo on Monday and had to settle for a 1-1 draw. Milik is much missed and Mertens is also missing tonight. Lorenzo Insigne and Jose Callejon will have to share the goalscoring burden with an out-of-form Manos Gabbiadini likely to lead the line. Mauro Icardi is the division’s leading scorer and will fancy his chances of netting against Napoli. Inter should win this, but don’t expect them to keep a clean sheet.

Macclesfield v Oxford – Oxford win

League One outfit Oxford should win this one. The U’s have improved recently and steered themselves away from the relegation zone with two wins and a draw. They have become solid conceding just two goals in three games. They held leaders Scunthorpe to a draw last weekend and restricted the Iron’s chances. Michael Appleton has said he may make a few changes for this one, but won’t be changing his goalkeeper. Even with some alterations and without the injured Liam Sercombe, who won’t return until 2017, I still think they are strong enough to get through this test. Macclesfield have been inconsistent this season and sit 11th in the National League. They beat League One Walsall in the previous round of the competition. They haven’t played for nearly two weeks due to poor weather conditions at Moss Rose and will be chomping at the bit to get going. Oxford should be able to keep it tight though and a single goal might be enough for the visitors.

Caen v Dijon – Draw

Dijon upset many a football accumulator on Tuesday night when they equalised late to deny Monaco all three points. The side from the Province had been leading for most of the match, but a late equaliser denied them all three points and the chance to go top of the table. It was Dijon’s 3rd draw in 5 games and they are becoming tough to beat. Bordeaux squeezed past them recently, but many sides find it hard to break them down. They don’t win enough though and haven’t been victorious on their travels yet this season. Caen have won 4 of their 7 games here this season, drawing one. They lost 4-2 at Lille on Tuesday night and it’ll be back to basics defending after that horror show, so this one could be pretty even. Two of the last four meetings between these sides have ended 2-2 and we could see a similar result this time around.

Dundee United v Hibernian – Draw

Two very evenly matched sides meet in the Scottish Championship. Dundee United’s home record (5 W 2 D) is identical to Hibs’ away record (5 W 2 D) and it’s hard to assess which one of these will come out on top. Both sides are extremely strong and have been firing goals in for fun. Dundee United draw 0-0 with 3rd place Morton and they could make it 2 stalemates in a row here. Hibs have only conceded 7 goals all season and will be hard to break down whilst Dundee United have shipped just 2 goals in 5 and just one in November. They’ve already faced one another this season at the beginning of October with the match ending 1-1. Both sides haven’t changed their approaches since that encounter and a similar result could be in the offing here.
