But surely, winning breeds confidence and against a Latvian side who have been struggling for any consistency, they should easily claim three points here. European football viewers will recognise Arda Turan & Hakan Calhanoglu, but the side isn’t as recognisable as it was a number of years ago. But they are hard to beat under Fatih Terim and that should continue here.

 

Cyprus v Wales – Handicap – Wales -1

This match ended 2-1 to Wales when they last met, but that is the only goal that Chris Coleman’s men have conceded in their last five games and they’ve looked defensively strong. They be able to keep a clean sheet and with Belgium putting five past the Cypriots last time out, I would be backing Wales to score a minimum of two goals here. Away trips are never easy, but Wales are riding high in the rankings and should be able to comfortably do the business here.

 

Bulgaria v Norway – Norway Draw No Bet

These two are very evenly matches and they meet in Group H with just two points separating them. I was tempted by the draw as Norway have drawn their last 2 and the hosts have drawn 3 of their last five. But, at the prices, it seems better value to side with Norway. They beat Bulgaria back in October by 2 goals to 1 and they have only been outclassed by Croatia when they got beaten 5-1. They seem like the best bet of the two sides.
