Everton Lukaku

Everton vs Norwich Betting Tips and Predictions

Everton host Norwich City in their final Premier League fixture on Sunday with kick off set for the normal end of season game at 15:00.

Everton play their final game without Roberto Martinez since his sacking against an already relegated Norwich City side in what is a bit of a non-event in truth. There’s nothing to play for and the main priority for players will not to get injured ahead of Euro 2016 this summer.

Everton vs Norwich City Predictions

The Everton fans will feel like they have something to actually party over this season, with some calling for an open top bus parade as the club finally took the decision to sack Roberto Martinez. The fans have been on his back all season, although he did have limited resources to work with at Goodison he certainly didn't help himself with his numerous terrible tactical decisions. It is possible they can finish further down the table than their current 12th place which shows how bad their season has been, with their “best squad ever” and with some of the quality players they have they should be finishing much higher than that.

Norwich were sent back down to the Championship in the last round of fixtures, although they produced a very impressive display as they beat Watford 4-2, an even better display from Sunderland meant their result was irrelevant. They have nothing to play for now, which is pretty obvious, they have played their final home Premier League game and their destination of football has been confirmed for next year. They have struggled with the opposition faced this year although did show their class in some games this season. I would definitely say they are capable of coming back up next year if they are able to keep hold of their better players.

Everton have only recorded one win from their last 10 games, and that makes you wonder why Martinez lasted so long. Their performances were lacking to say the least and the fans have been on the back of the boss for most of the season now. There will be a different atmosphere at Goodison in this game which will be a surprise to the players however this can only be a good thing as this will surely rally them on to put on a good performance to the fans before the season comes to an end. I can’t see a big following from the Norwich fans this game as they have nothing to play for and I think the players will already have their minds set on their holidays. I believe the new manager syndrome will take effect here and the odds for an Everton win don't tempt me enough, so my first Everton vs Norwich prediction is going to be Everton half time/full time at 19/10 with Bet Victor.

Royle and Unsworth are set to take the ropes for the final game and being full on Evertonians they will make sure the players produce a performance worthy of the blue shirt, and the players should definitely want to put a performance on for these two in charge now. One player who has been criticised recently has been Lukaku, he has an excellent start to the season scoring 25 goals in all competitions and was in contention for the golden boot at one point. However, he has shown recently he still needs time to develop as he has gone missing a lot and missed too many chances, the FA Cup Semi Final flies to mind. With nine games and no goals recently this is the perfect opportunity for him to finally get back on the scoresheet. With that in mind my second Everton vs Norwich prediction is going to be Lukaku to score first at 9/2 with Coral.

Finally, I have mentioned I expect a bit of white wash from Everton and Norwich will play their part by rolling over and letting The Toffees do their thing. Everton will be playing for pride and have rarely celebrated a win this season so three point in their final game would be lovely. They have one of the worst home records in the Premier League which is quite surprising, normally a poor home record means a poor away record and then of course that means relegation. Everton managed to put a half decent away record to their name surprisingly which means they were lucky enough to not be fighting to stay up. My third Everton vs Norwich betting tip is Everton -1 at 2/1 with Paddy Power.
