Euro 2016 Group A Predictions – France and Switzerland to Progress

We’re looking at Group A at Euro 2016 today and we’ve got two betting tips for the Group where France are the short priced favourites to top the table.

 

With the Euro’s fast approaching now it means a summer filled with football for us all, which is a nice change for us when we normally have to deal with going shopping with the other half on a Saturday afternoon. Discussing Euro 2016 Group A at the European Championships means we have the host nation to talk about. With the competition being held in France this year we are treated to the home nation in Group A accompanied by Albania, Romania and Switzerland.

France are obviously the stand out team in this group and I know it goes without saying that everyone expects them to walk this group, with that being said many people are tipping them to win the whole competition if not at least to reach the end stages of it.

 

Romania won’t lie down in this group and let every team walk all over them, in qualifying they defended very well and made a nuisance of themselves by being difficult to break down, the boss had them very well organised and although they won’t win the competition, or maybe even get through the group stage, they will surely have a say on some of the results in Group A.

 

Albania were very impressive in qualifying, they came through a tough group and managed to finish 2nd were many people expected them not to make it, once again they had a very good defence which helped them progress further in the competition but with a lack of attacking quality as many of the other nations this could be where they fall down. They do have some quality players in their ranks, admittedly they are not as well-known as other countries but they will definitely give it a go.

 

Switzerland were very impressive in qualification with only losing three games overall, they didn't play the best quality of teams so although losing twice to England they will be happy with their campaign so far and will want to keep this going. Recently they have let their form slip with three losses in four including friendlies however they will be confident they can pull through this group. Switzerland have many quality players in all their tiers of play, they have experience in defence and midfield. Boasting many top European teams’ transfer target Xhaka. Up front they have the talented Shaqiri and will expect goals to come from and be created by these sort of players.

 

Looking for bets on this group I was swayed towards these before even looking at odds.

 

I expect France to walk this group and definitely finish top, at the odds of 2/5 it’s not something I am going offer for my Euro 2016 betting tip but something to consider if you fancied a Euro 2016 group winners accumulator.
