Euro 2016 Accumulator Tips for the First Weekend at 41/1

Euro 2016 accumulator tips for the opening few days of fixtures to make up a 41/1 accumulator from five Euro 2016 predictions.

There are plenty of matches across the first few days of the competition as Groups A, B, C and D kick off. We’ve picked out five Euro 2016 predictions across the weekend to make up a big odds accumulator tip.

Euro 2016 Accumulator Tip

France v Romania – France win

France will want to kick off in style in front of the home fans. They’ve been scoring for fun in recent weeks as they build up to the tournament netting 13 times in four friendlies. They weren’t convincing at the back against Cameroon or Russia, but they make up for it in fire power. Outscoring opponents is always a risky business, but they should be able to find a way past a side who come off the back of some high scoring affairs. Romania beat Georgia 5-1 during their preparation for the competition and that came off the back of a 3-4 defeat to Ukraine. Until late, they had been keeping it tight and there’s a possibility they will revert back to their familiar style for the tournament opener. Olivier Giroud, Antonine Griezmann and Dmitri Payet can combine to devastating effect and with the imperious Paul Pogba in behind, France will take some stopping here.

Albania v Switzerland – Draw

Switzerland have never lost to Albania in all five meetings between the sides and I expect that run to continue. The last few victories for the Swiss have all been by a single goal margin, but Albania have significantly improved since then and have a solid back four. I wasn’t massively convinced by Switzerland during their 2-1 victory over Moldova. True, their opponents were stubborn, but I expected more from a side with a number of stars in their team. Prior to their narrow victory, they were beaten three times consecutively. Defeats to Belgium, Republic of Ireland and Bosnia and Herzgovina hasn’t given them much in the way of momentum approaching this tournament and I fancy them to leave Lens with just a point. It’s Albania’s first ever game at the tournament and they will be looking to get off to a decent start. They only lost two of their group games when qualifying and I think they’ll be ready for this.

England v Russia – England win

One of the best bets of the first round matches is England to overcome an average Russian side with injury problems. Alan Dzagoev’s injury was quickly followed by Igor Denisov declaring himself absent for the duration of the tournament with a hamstring injury. It leaves a gaping hole in the middle of the park for England to exploit. England were pretty impressive during qualifying and they go into the tournament in good spirits. Their success depends of the flexibility of manager Roy Hodgson and whether they can fit Vardy, Kane and Rooney into the same side. There’s some exciting young talent though and the likes of Deli Ali and the aforementioned Vardy should give an ageing Russian backline plenty to think about. Russia lost to Czech Republic last week and their preparations have been affected by the injuries. They will struggle here.

Germany v Ukraine – Germany win

Straightforward selection to boost the odds. Germany should win their opening group game easily. Ukraine will be tough to break down, but they seem to lack a potent striker. They rely on Konoplyanka and Yarmolenko for the goals and could do with better options through the middle. Ukraine are unbeaten in six games coming into this and their only recent defeat was a 1-0 reverse to Spain. I think we could see a similar result here. Germany should do just about enough in their first game of the tournament. With games against Poland and Northern Ireland approaching, they will want to take three points from this. They’ve had mixed results in the build up to the summer, with two victories and two defeats, but they have too much class in their ranks to disappoint here.

Poland v Northern Ireland – Draw

A big price to boost the accumulator price. Poland open against Northern Ireland who come here off the back of a very solid run. Poland were disappointing on Monday night failing to break Lithuania during 90 goalless minutes. That followed on from a disappointing 1-2 defeat to the Netherlands, who failed to qualify for the tournament. They have plenty of firepower in the shape of Milik and Lewandowski, but neither have been firing for the National side with any kind of regularity. If Poland aren’t at their best, they will find Northern Ireland hard to break down. They aren’t swimming in strikers, but they have tremendous spirit and will fight for the cause. They’ve conceded just one goal in their last five and just five in their last ten, they certainly aren’t here to make up the numbers.
