Derby vs Brentford Betting Tips, Predictions and Preview

Brentford v Derby predictions and weekend football betting tips for this weekend’s Championship fixture and the best odds for our three bets.

Derby are alarmingly dropping out of the promotion race and they are looking to halt their slide in West London as they face Brentford, our football tipster has picked his best weekend bets.

Brentford vs Derby Predictions

Sacking Paul Clement failed to have the desired effect for Derby County as they slumped to a disappointing defeat at home to MK Dons last time out. Boxing Day seems like a long time ago, but that was the last time that Derby County won when they saw off Fulham. In the eight games since, they’ve picked up just four points.

It’s a peculiar demise of a team who looked like they had signed enough quality this season to challenge for promotion. They’ve certainly spent heartily, splashing on Nick Blackman, Andreas Weimann, Jacob Butterfield and Bradley Johnson, but they just haven’t clicked as a team.

They’ve slipped to 6th in the league with Birmingham and Ipswich now just a win behind them. It’s hard to see them catching the top two, but they can’t afford to miss out on a play-off spot for the second season running.

Darren Wassall has a difficult task as he looks to guide the Rams through a very shaky period. They are looking for their first win of 2016 against equally out of form opponents.

Brentford have been struggling under Dean Smith of late, but they have had some difficult matches. Defeats here to Middlesbrough and Burnley were almost to be expected and travelling to the Amex and Hillsborough are never going to be easy, but Smith would have liked more than just four points from the last seven matches.

They’ve sold players in the January transfer window, but don’t appear to have sufficiently replaced them. They were always on the back foot on Saturday when going down to 10 men after five minutes against an in-form and free-scoring Wednesday side.

There are still plenty of decent players on their books and they should easily beat many of the teams in the lower half of the table, but on recent form, they can’t be backed with any confidence either.

A boost for Brentford this week came when Nico Yennaris and Harlee Dean both signed new contracts at the club and the former has come out and declared that Brentford will turn things around.

Dean Smith has emerged from many a bad run when he was Walsall boss and I think they will start picking up points soon. However, for my football betting tips I think everything is pointing towards this one ending in a draw and Derby’s winless run to go on.

My first Brentford vs Derby prediction is for the match to end a Draw. It can be backed at 12/5 with Betfred which are the best odds available.

Derby County do have goals in them. When Chris Martin hits form, he can be hard to stop. They’re without George Thorne, but Jacob Butterfield can also fire them in from midfield. Derby haven’t managed a goal in their last three games at the iPro, but they’ve scored in their last two away matches. Whilst not having one outstanding goal threat, Brentford do score goals, particularly at home, where they’ve scored 19 times. They managed a goal against Burnley and Leeds recently and I think they’ll give something for the home crowd to cheer here.

My second Brentford v Derby betting tip is for Both Teams to Score? Yes. It can be backed at 5/6 with Betfair.

The Bees were pleased to hold onto the talented Alan Judge during the transfer window. He is their top scorer with 11 goals and seven of those have been at Griffin Park. He is a decent price to grab his 12th of the campaign for our anytime scorer tip this weekend.

My third Brentford v Derby prediction is for Alan Judge to score anytime. He is 9/2 with Paddy Power.
