Despite being linked with a whole manner of impressive managerial names since Jose Mourinho was first told to pack his bags and leave the Stamford Bridge dug-out for good, Chelsea have seemingly stumbled upon their next leader in the shape of former Juventus boss – Antonio Conte, and the ramifications are likely to prove very significant for the Blues throughout the course of next season.
The 46-year-old tactician will reportedly begin his duties down in West London after his current role with Italy at Euro 2016 comes to its natural end. Although many Chelsea fans would apparently love Guus Hiddink to take on a permanent managerial role at their club next season, such an outcome now looks somewhat unlikely after the reported interest in Conte.
So then, in light of everything that has already taken place in and around Stamford Bridge across the duration of the current season – will the Blues faithful take to their potential new Italian boss before the 2016/17 campaign eventually gets underway, or have Chelsea supporters simply had enough of these big-name managerial appointments in the modern era?
Well, although Antonio Conte has not been officially announced as Jose Mourinho’s permanent successor at Chelsea as of yet, most Blues fans seem relatively happy with the likely appointment at their club…
Antonio Conte on his way to Chelsea FC. I hope he will be as good as Mourinho and will bring Premier League trophy home, once again in 2017.

…especially as the current Chelsea manager looks set to end his second brief spell in charge at Stamford Bridge sooner rather than later…
Conte seems to be a perfect fit for Chelsea. Hope we end up with him now Hiddink isn't getting the job!

Yet whilst many seem pleased with the reported interest in Conte, perhaps he wasn’t the only name circling upon Chelsea’s managerial shortlist this season…
Conte is a good option for Chelsea . Simeone would have fit them perfectly though, in my opinion.

Not every current Premier League watcher seems overly convinced with the recent news however…
Imagine thinking Chelsea are going to become elite with Conte as manager, He has a poor record in cup competitions and Europe.

…and perhaps there is strong reasoning behind their scepticism…
Conte is an intriguing choice by Chelsea. Did well in Italy but never cracked European football and Allegri took his team to the final.

Most nonetheless predict great things for Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge…
Conte can change the mentality around the club, trust the youth and play attractive attacking football. Confident he will be a success

…even if the passionate Italian tactician may not be seen as a long-term alternative with all things considered…
We may get a first year bounce under Conte, but can I see it working long term with the way he is? Unfortunately no #chelsea

When all is said and done however, the 46-year-old Azzurri boss will likely develop a fair amount of hype in and around Stamford Bridge by the time 2016/17 finally comes around…
Antonio Conte is a manger I wouldn't mind seeing at Chelsea, very excited if the deal is completed, great manager. #CFC#Conte

…and if his famed touch-line antics are to prove anything to go by…
…Antonio Conte’s upcoming stint at Stamford Bridge could potentially begin to rival that of Jose Mourinho, should circumstances allow next season!
