Ipswich have seemingly bounced back from their crazy couple of weeks in which defending went out of the window. They conceded eight goals in two games and scored four themselves. Mick McCarthy’s side apparently forgot how to defend when they came up against Reading and Brighton but a 1-0 victory against Leeds in midweek steadied the ship.

 

Freddie Sears is one of the top strikers in the Championship and he is replacing the goals of Daryl Murphy, which aren’t as prevalent as last season whilst Birmingham got their first goals from a striker at the weekend when Clayton Donaldson netted a hat-trick.

 

Gary Rowett rested Demarai Gray in midweek and they may have missed his movement and pace. He hasn’t scored enough this season, but he is pivotal to breaking at speed and creating chances.

 

He is likely to be thrown back into this and it should make Birmingham more dangerous.

 

I think there will be goals in this one and I think both sides will find the net. It was rare to see a Birmingham blank in midweek and Rowett and his players will do everything in their power to correct that in Suffolk.
