Burnley vs Blackburn Betting Tips, Predictions and Preview

Burnley v Blackburn predictions and betting tips for this weekend’s live TV Championship fixture on Saturday 5th March including the best odds for our three bets.

There’s a tasty Lancashire derby on Saturday lunchtime as Blackburn look to build on their victory over Middlesbrough by putting a dent in arch rivals Burnley’s promotion hopes. We’ve got the three best betting tips for the match.

Burnley v Blackburn Predictions

Burnley are flying and are unbeaten in 11 in the Championship. They’re going to be hard to shift from the promotion picture. They also haven’t lost in seven home matches and are on a four game winning streak. That makes frightening reading for today’s opponents Blackburn, who have impressed in recent weeks with the help of some astute loan signings.

Rovers have been better at Ewood Park and it’s now six attempts on the road without a win. Three victories in a row including an impressive victory over Middlesbrough in front of their own fans, but they haven’t been able to replicate that on their travels. Jordi Gomez has been influential since arriving from Sunderland whilst Matt Grimes and Danny Graham have also been useful. Graham in particular could help Blackburn’s chronic lack of goals this season, only scoring 33 in 33. They are no longer the second lowest scorers in the division, but they could improve on that record of a goal per game.

In contrast to that, Burnley are the highest scorers in the division, notching 53 in total. They’ve only scored seven goals in the last six though, failing to grab more than two in any of those games. But, they also have a decent defence and a habit of grinding out results. In their last four home matches which include Derby, Hull and Nottingham Forest, they’ve only conceded one goal and they’ve only let four goals past them in the last eight home & away. Only Hull and Middlesbrough can boast a better defensive record this season.

They can also lay claim to the best home form in the league taking 39 points from 17 matches at Turf Moor. They really do look a Premier League team in the making. Blackburn haven’t beaten them in any of the last five attempts. Three of them ending 1-1. I think Blackburn’s poor away form will count against them here and failing to beat Charlton or Bolton really can’t give you confidence to back Rovers.

My first Burnley vs Blackburn prediction is for Burnley to win. The best odds for Burnley to beat Blackburn this weekend are Evens with bet365.

Burnley’s 2-1 win at Bolton was the first time they have featured in a game containing more than three goals since the 25th of January. Five of their last six games have finished Unders. Only four Blackburn away matches have gone over this season, with three of those coming in October or earlier. Only three of their last 15 in the Championship have featured more than three goals and they’ve all been at Ewood Park. My second Burnley vs Blackburn betting tip is for Under 2.5 goals. It can be backed at 8/13 with Betfred.

Andre Gray hadn’t scored for a while before notching twice on Saturday against Bolton. The former Luton man has scored 18 goals this season and 13 of them have come at Turf Moor. He has pace to burn and he could be the man to unsettle the Blackburn defence. My third Burnley vs Blackburn prediction is for Andre Gray to score anytime.

The best odds for Andre Gray to score against Blackburn this weekend are 7/5 at Bet Victor.
