Brighton vs QPR Betting Tips and Predictions – Championship

Brighton vs QPR betting tips and predictions for tonight’s Championship clash with Brighton well in the mix for automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Whilst the top two fight it out at Turf Moor, there’s a chance for 3rd place Brighton to continue their fine run of form at the AMEX as they host QPR. We’ve got the best bets for the match. The Seagulls put five past QPR’s near neighbours Fulham on Friday night and with a day’s extra rest, they could be potent once again.

Brighton vs QPR Preview

Brighton

If it wasn’t for the consistency of Burnley and Middlesbrough, Brighton would be at the top of the table. They’ve looked thoroughly convincing here on the South Coast and they’ve had a little luck on the road, but nobody can deny that they deserve to sit in their current position.

Chris Hughton has masterminded a sensational rise and deserves a lot of credit for the positivity with which his side are playing. Not always known for attacking football (ask Norwich fans) Hughton has galvanised a Brighton side, who looked ordinary last season and they have a very realistic chance of reaching the Premier League.

They hit five past Fulham on Friday and the Cottagers arrived off the back of three victories. Anthony Knockaert was singled out for his performance, pulling the strings in midfield. In fact, they’ve used the loan market well, recruiting James Wilson and Steve Sidwell too. But it’s the regulars such as Beram Kayal and Lewis Dunk that have been integral to the Seagulls successful season.

They’ve only conceded 17 goals here all season and they have the flourishing partnership of the aforementioned Dunk and young Connor Goldson. The latter has made the step up to the Championship with aplomb and looks a very decent prospect for the future. Andre Gray was named Championship player of the year this week, but expect to see many names from this squad when the team of the year gets announced.

Tomer Hemed netted a hatrick on Friday night and the Israeli striker has had a terrific season in front of goal. He has had a variety of striker partners with James Wilson, Bobby Zamora & Sam Baldock all featuring alongside him at some point, but he is the focal point of the team and they missed him when he was on the sidelines. It’s now ten games without defeat for the home side and alongside Burnley, Middlesbrough and Rotherham, they have the best form in the league.

QPR

QPR face a tough task then for their visit to the South Coast and they’ll be hoping to avoid being carved open on Tuesday night. They are better organised and better defensively than Fulham, so don’t expect as many goals here.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink suggested he would play some of the younger members of the squad on Saturday, he didn’t, he opted for the veteran Clint Hill at the back and the usual suspects in midfield. He did give a debut to Matt Ingram in goal though and the former Wycombe stopper kept Cardiff at bay.

There’s plenty to be positive about next season and with the likes of Junior Hoilett and Matt Phillips in their side, there’s always going to be plenty of pace. The likes of Karl Henry and Alejandro Faurlin will perhaps be replaced by younger, hungrier players in midfield though. Massimo Luongo is another whose future is certainly bright.

Team News

Brighton are unlikely to change a side which scored five on Friday. Sam Baldock is back in contention though but could be restricted to an appearance from the bench. Bobby Zamora is the only man who is out injured.

Matt Ingram is likely to continue between the posts after impressing his boss. Junior Hoilett is back from his injury worries and could get a start.

Brighton vs QPR Predictions

QPR may be harder to break down than Fulham were and It could be a case of waiting for the opportunity for Brighton. They are far too short for me to back on the outright so it might be better to back the Draw at HT and Brighton to wrap it up in the second half. My first Brighton vs QPR prediction is for Draw/Brighton on the HT/FT market.

After hitting five, many would expect Brighton to be free scoring here, but I think they’ll find it hard to break down the opposition. Only 24% of QPR’s away matches have gone over 2.5 and they’ve only scored 17 goals on the road all season. My second Championship prediction for Brighton v QPR tonight is for Under 2.5 goals.

BET NOW – Under 2.5 goals at 4/5 with Sportingbet.

Tomer Hemed could be the man to net again here to land us an anytime goalscorer tip, he is on a hot streak and is also the penalty taker. My third Brighton vs QPR betting tip is for Tomer Hemed to score anytime. He is 6/4 with Bet365 to score anytime.
