Brentford v Burnley predictions and betting preview for the Friday night football in the Championship and the best three football betting tips.
There’s Championship action on Friday from West London with a quick turnaround for both Brentford and Burnley. We have picked out the best three bets for the match and given our reasoning for betting against Brentford.
Brentford v Burnley Predictions
Brentford can feel hard done by, losing 1-0 here against leaders Middlesbrough on Tuesday night. It was hardly a vintage performance from the pace setters and they will feel a little relieved that they collected all three points. The Bees spurned a number of opportunities and it was a goalkeeping error by David Button which settled the match in favour of the Teessiders.
It meant two defeats on the spin for Dean Smith’s side and they will be looking to bounce back from that disappointment against the newly free-scoring Clarets.
Burnley hadn’t been scoring away from home…until Tuesday that is. They smashed five past a hapless MK Dons without reply. Anthony Kay was dismissed for the Dons, but Sean Dyche’s men were already out of sight by that point.
It leaves them unbeaten in three with nine goals scored and none conceded. Yes, they’ve lost ground on Hull and Middlesbrough in recent weeks, but one more win and a Derby slip up and they could be back inside the top three.
Brentford and Burnley recent form – Both of these teams have taken 11 points from their last eight games so they have been in similar form, but I feel as though Burnley’s recent goal-scoring exploits may give them the edge here for my Championship predicitons. The fact that the Lancashire side have kept four clean sheets in the last five suggests that their defensive shape is effective and that should help get at least a point.
Burnley have only lost four times all season, most recently to Middlesbrough and Hull, their promotion rivals. A surprise derby defeat to a tough Preston side and an early season loss to Ipswich are the only real blots on their copybook. Three of those teams are in the top 5 of the current Championship table with Preston the only exception.
I think they’ll get the job done here. Brentford are a very decent side, but they come here off the back of two defeats and although they can consider themselves unlucky on Tuesday, I think Burnley’s confidence will be too high and the Clarets don’t lose many. They are a decent price on the Draw No Bet market.
My first football prediction for Brentford v Burnley is for Burnley Draw No Bet. They can be backed at 11/10 with Sky Bet.
Burnley have kept four clean sheets in their last five matches, but some of these were against poor sides. MK Dons are the lowest scorers in the league and strugglers Bristol City and Charlton can count themselves amongst the pocket of teams who score fewer than a goal a game. These two sides are amongst the highest scorers in the league and despite their lack of composure in front of goal, Brentford have scored 37 goals in 26 games this season and were so close to netting against defensively sound Middlesbrough.
My second Brentford v Burnley prediction is for Both Teams to Score? Yes. It can be backed at 20/23 with Coral.

It’s an unoriginal and unimaginative choice for my goalscorer tip, but how many times do we see a goalscorer net against their former employers? Andre Gray was signed for £9m from Brentford and he could be the man to sink his former club here. He has four goals in his last three games including a hattrick against Bristol City and he should be up for this one.
My anytime goalscorer betting tip for Brentford v Burnley is for Andre Gray to score anytime. He can be backed at 19/10 with Bet Victor.
