Both Teams to Score Tips 8th May
Spurs v Southampton
The 13:30 kick off in the Premier League is from White Hart Lane. Southampton haven’t kept a clean sheet since the 13th of February and I don’t think they will here either. Spurs now have nothing to play for and they are without a few key players, but they still offer a goalscoring threat. Kane will be present and Son may start once more and it’s likely they’ll find a way past Fraser Forster and co. The Saints are certainly not goal shy, they hit four past Manchester City last weekend and with Spurs no longer in title contention, it’s unlikely they’ll be bothered about a clean sheet. 17 goals scored in seven matches isn’t a bad record for the Saints and with Shane Long and Saido Mane in sparkling form, they are bound to notch a goal here in North London.
Fiorentina v Palermo
Fiorentina are the team to look at for BTTS on a Sunday as they have now scored in 18 consecutive home matches and conceded in their last seven. Paolo Sousa’s side have struggled of late, but they don’t have too many problems going forward, it’s keeping them out. Palermo are struggling down in 18th, but they’ve picked up back to back wins recently to give themselves a chance. They are unbeaten in three and have their eye on Carpi and Udinese above them. They’ve hit two in their last three games and will be up for this. They’ve kept three clean sheets in eight, but against a side who have netted in their last 18 games at home, they’ll find it hard to add another to the list.
Las Palmas v Ath. Bilbao
All of the Spanish La Liga fixtures kick off at 16:00 on Sunday and there are plenty of opportunities for BTTS among the list. Las Palmas are tough to beat at home. It can probably be partly blamed on the quest to reach their home stadium on Gran Canaria. Bilbao aren’t bad travellers though and they’ll make a decent fist of this. The home side have scored in each of their last seven matches here and have only kept one clean sheet in their last four. Bilbao have also scored in each of their last seven matches on the road but they’ve conceded in their last three games in La Liga. It finished 2-2 when these sides met in Bilbao and we could see a similar scoreline here.
PEC Zwolle v PSV
On the final day of the regulation Dutch Eredivisie season, PSV need a six goal swing on leaders Ajax to win the league for a second successive season. They face a tough fixture in Zwolle though as the home side have won each of their last four matches here. 10 of their 14 victories have been at home this season and they’re right in the mix for the end of season play-offs. They’ve conceded in three of their last four home matches and with PSV conceding twice to lowly Cambuur last weekend, I can see there being goals in this game. Ajax have the easier game, but PSV will still be believing they can do it. Both teams have scored in each of the last seven meetings between these sides.
