Both Teams to Score Tips

Reading v Nottingham Forest

Forest are always good for a BTTS this season. Even when they were down to 10 men last Saturday at home to Cardiff, a last-minute penalty still managed to help it land. They are incredibly open at the back and making errors. Anthony Pilkington could have had 3 or 4 goals for Cardiff in that match. Reading will surely get the opportunities in this game. The Royals have been decent at the Majeski and have netted in all but one game this campaign. They’ve also conceded three goals in their last two matches here, so there will be chances for the away side. Forest’s last three away games have all resulted in 2-1 defeats and prior to that, they drew 2-2. Even without Nicholas Bendtner and the often injury Britt Assombalonga, they still possess a threat and should be able to find a way past the Reading defence. Forest have to be better than they were against Cardiff, but I can’t see them keeping the Royals out.

Northampton v Bury

Another side who have been profitable for BTTS this season are Northampton. Rob Page’s side have certainly been one of the more entertaining sides of League One. They are back at Sixfields to host Bury on Saturday. The Shakers played on Monday and lost 2-0 to Bolton. They have been scoring away from home though. They are still missing a few players, but they have James Vaughn back and he is always a threat. Zeli Ismail also provides plenty of width and hopefully assists for the former Norwich striker to get on the end of. Northampton have scored in each of their last 6 home games in all competitions including against Manchester United and they’ve lost their last two home games 1-3 and 2-3 and have been involved in many high scoring games this season.

Notts County v Luton

Luton have been drawing plenty of their matches and it’s seen them fall a fair few points behind the top two in the league. They’ve drawn four of their last five league matches 1-1 and this one could go the same way. Nathan Jones’ side are hard to beat, but they don’t win often enough because they can’t keep clean sheets. You have to go back to the 27th of August to find the last time they kept a side off the scoresheet. That was against Cambridge. They do have a goalscoring threat as well with Danny Hylton and Jack Marriott combining up top. The former is always in the right place at the right time. Notts County have been climbing the table under John Sheridan and beat Portsmouth 2-1 at Fratton Park last weekend. That was the 4th consecutive league game in which both sides have found the net.

Barnet v Hartlepool

Barnet played in midweek and could only draw 2-2 with bottom side Newport. The Exiles are improving and led for most the game. The Bees have a weapon though in the shape of John Akinde, who added two more to his impressive tally. He’s scored over 100 goals for the club now and is always a threat. He will surely find a way through a Hartlepool backline which struggles to keep clean sheets. Pools haven’t kept a clean sheet in any of their last three league games and although they won 3-0 against Grimsby before that, they had Trevor Carson to thank for keeping them in the game. Both Teams have scored in three of Barnet’s last four League Two games and don’t be surprised to see this one feature goals, mistakes and John Akinde.

Both Teams to Score 4-Fold

  • Reading v Nottingham Forest
  • Northampton v Bury
  • Notts County v Luton
  • Barnet v Hartlepool
