Both Teams to Score Tips

Norwich v Aston Villa BTTS

Norwich may have failed to score at White Hart Lane on Boxing Day, but they usually do find the net at Carrow Road. They’ve only failed to score once at home all season, that was when West Brom were in town. Tony Pulis’ men aren’t the easiest to get past and so it proved in East Anglia. More recently, Norwich found a way past Everton, Arsenal and Leicester and they shouldn’t have any problems getting around the Aston Villa defence. Villa may be struggling down at the bottom and Championship football beckons, but they have started scoring recently and Jordan Ayew in particular has looked lively. With just one clean sheet to their name all season – against out of form Swansea, this one could easily see both sides scoring.

QPR v Huddersfield BTTS

It seems that Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink hasn’t quite stamped his authority on the QPR team and they will be looking to the transfer market in January to try and improve consistency in West London. They conceded a late goal to Ipswich on Boxing Day and that continues their run of four games without a victory. After a short period of keeping clean sheets, they’ve now conceded in three consecutive matches and have found the net in five of their last six so this goes in out BTTS tip. Huddersfield were brilliant against Preston on Boxing Day, two goals for Nahki Wells and Emyr Huws netting direct from a corner saw off the Lancashire side. They poured forward and we saw individual brilliance from Sean Scannell and Harry Bunn throughout the 90 minutes. Huddersfield have scored in each of their last five matches and have kept just two clean sheets since mid-October.

Crewe v Shrewsbury BTTS

Shrewsbury have been going about their business under the radar in League One this season and they have been picking up enough points to keep their heads above water. They haven’t been able to keep teams out though and have kept just a single clean sheet since the end of September. That 2-0 win over Bury on the 24th of October was the only time they’ve kept an opponent out and they seem unlikely to do against Crewe as the Railwaymen have started to find their shooting boots. Crewe have now scored in each of their last five matches and in six of their last seven and although they are very slowly moving up the table, it seems there is gradual improvement and they shouldn’t find the Shrewsbury defence too much of an obstacle.

Bristol Rovers v Leyton Orient BTTS

Orient were involved in a topsy turvy affair on Boxing Day as they came from behind to win 3-2 over Portsmouth. It was a terrific match at Brisbane Road and it’s a quick turnaround as they travel to the Memorial Ground. They’ve kept just one clean sheet since the end of August which will be good news for Bristol Rovers who somehow failed to net against 10 men AFC Wimbledon just a couple of days ago. I’m not too worried about that for this betting tip though as they have plenty of goals in them and put two past York and three past Wycombe here recently. Orient have scored in all but two matches this season and shouldn’t have any problems here, particularly with the in-form Jay Simpson sniffing around.
