Both Teams to Score Tips
Fulham vs Reading
Both of these sides are playing exceptionally well at the moment and should be able to find their way onto the scoresheet on Saturday afternoon. At Craven Cottage, BTTS has landed in 3 of the last 4 games with the exception being the 5-0 battering of Huddersfield. They weren’t at their best against Sheffield Wednesday, but they managed to find a way through and never gave up. Reading are 3rd and playing some scintillating football along the way. They were keeping clean sheets, but Bristol City ruined that record last weekend with a second half goal. On the road, Reading have scored in 7 consecutive matches and they don’t have far to travel here. Whilst the Royals don’t possess a lethal striker, they are finding goals from all over the field with many of the midfielders chipping in. The previous meetings between these sides have been entertaining and contained plenty of goals. Last season, it finished 4-2 to Fulham here and 2-2 back at the Majeski. BTTS would have landed in 5 of the last 6 meetings between the sides.
Leeds vs Aston Villa
Our second selection for the BTTS tip is the televised game which kicks off at 5:30pm. Leeds looked impressive against Liverpool in midweek and it’s hard to believe they didn’t score. They have been much improved under Garry Monk and many Leeds fans are feeling optimistic about the future under the former Swansea boss. They’ve won 4 of their last 5 games and have moved up to 5th in the table. They were outclassed by Newcastle here at Elland Road, but they had notched in their previous 5 games here in the Championship and should be able to find a way past Aston Villa. The visitors are improving and picking up results, but haven’t kept a clean sheet in the last five matches and may be susceptible to the Leeds attack. They are scoring however and possess the likes of Albert Adomah, Rudy Gestede and Jonathon Kodjia. They have a number of players who can put the ball in the back of the net. Former Leeds frontman Ross McCormack has been injured, but may feature here and will be determined to score against one of his former clubs. BTTS has landed in 4 of the last 5 Villa games.
Stevenage vs Doncaster
There are just two League Two ties this weekend as the FA Cup take precedence. Stevenage pulled off a shock last weekend as they beat Portsmouth at Fratton Park. They were probably helped by the fact the opposition players were fighting with one another in the dressing room, but they still performed admirably and will give Doncaster a test. Stevenage have netted in the last 7 League Two matches consecutively. They’ve also found the net in 9 of their last 10 games in all competitions. Only League One outfit Port Vale have kept them off the scoresheet. Doncaster’s defence isn’t the best at the moment. They haven’t kept a clean sheet since the 15th of October. They’ve kept just two clean sheets in the league all season, two of which came in August and two of which came against the current bottom two. They’ve got plenty of goals in them with the likes of Tommy Rowe, James Coppinger and John Marquis all getting on the scoresheet recently. Liam Mandeville has also been chipping in with a few recently. In 35 games between them, these two sides have scored 53 and conceded 50.
Carlisle vs Rochdale
This tie is being played in the FA Cup 2nd round. Carlisle have been flying in League Two and were unbeaten until a couple of weeks ago. They’ve netted in all but one of their games this season so far. BTTS has landed in 8 of their last 9 games in all competitions and there have been 16 goals in their last three matches alone. The Cumbrians have scored fewer than 2 goals just once since the 24th of September. Rochdale are looking to bounce back from a hammering away from home last weekend. Keith Hill’s side were easily swept aside by an improving Gillingham. But, whilst they don’t land many BTTS bets, they have plenty of goals in them and should get sucked into Carlisle’s energetic attacking game.
