Both Teams to Score Tips

West Brom v Man United BTTS

West Brom are becoming tough to beat as Leicester found out in mid-week. They’ve also started scoring a few goals too. Solomon Rondon is slowly adapting to the pace of the Premier League and can go on to be a decent poacher for the Baggies. They face in-form Man United who won somewhat fortuitously in midweek against Watford. Louis Van Gaal’s side have scored in each of their last four away match which have included 3-3 draws, 1-0 wins and 2-1 losses. The unearthing of Marcus Rashford gives them an extra goalscorer and they should be able to find a way past West Brom. Pulis’ side have kept just a single clean sheet in their last five matches and just one in their last four home matches. They’ve scored 62% of their goals here and conceded 56% of them at the Hawthornes. They almost surrendered a three goal lead here last time to Crystal Palace and they should play their part in an entertaining contest.

Sporting Gijon v Ath. Bilbao BTTS

Gijon are a decent home side in La Liga, but were strangely edged out 2-4 by an out-of-form Espanyol team last time. They’ve only failed to score in one of their last eight matches home or away in the league and have netted in their last seven here. They’ve also failed to keep a clean sheet in eight home matches. That run includes a 1-3 loss to Barcelona and an entertaining 2-2 draw with Rayo Vallecano. Bilbao have scored in their last three away matches, which included a 3-0 win over Valencia. Two thirds of their goals have been conceded on the road and a clean sheet here will be hard to come by. They’ve scored just 17 goals away from home all season, but six of those have arrived in the last three matches. Gijon’s games are usually packed with goals and hopefully this one will be no exception.

Mainz v Darmstadt BTTS

A rare trip to the Bundesliga for the BTTS 4-fold on a Sunday, but I think in-form Mainz should win and both teams will probably get on the scoresheet. Mainz beat Bayern by the scoreline of 2-1 on Wednesday night and that was their 5th win six. They’ve scored in each of those games and have kept just two clean sheets. Their failure to keep the opposition out in their last four matches gives hope to Darmstadt. They lost 2-0 to Dortmund in midweek, but away from home, they’ve scored seven times in their last four matches. 17 of their 25 goals have been away from home and I fancy them to get on the scoresheet here. They’re averaging 1.42 goals a game on the road and they even managed to find a way past Bayern. It’s just one clean sheet in eight for the visitors and with Mainz’s confidence, it’s hard to see them improving that record.

Vitoria Setubal v Moreirense BTTS

There’s usually a game in Portugal we can rely on for goals on a Sunday and the last couple of weeks it’s been Moreirense. They’re back this week, but this time away at Vitoria Setubal. Neither of these sides are currently pulling up trees and that’s because they can’t defend. It’s now eight goals conceded in three Primeira Liga games for the away side and just a single clean sheet in eight. That came against low scoring Unaio Madeira. It’s 12 games since Setubal kept a clean sheet and their early season form has dropped off significantly. They’ve conceded in each of their last seven home matches including shipping six to Sporting. They’ve drawn three of their last four games with goals in each of them.
