Despite a supposed ‘wobble’, Burnley are still unbeaten in 18. It’s an impressive statistic at any level and Sean Dyche’s side have a never say die attitude, captured in a nutshell by their fightback against Brighton a few weeks back. Striker Andre Gray has been shortlisted for Championship player of the year, but there are any number of Clarets players who could be on that list. They may be playing catch-up here though with Brighton hosting Fulham on Friday night and Middlesbrough travelling to Bolton at lunchtime.
Defender Michael Keane insists that it’s in Burnley’s own hands. They still have to face Middlesbrough before the end of the season and if they remain unbeaten, a return to the Premier League is almost inevitable. They showed their ability to grind out wins on Saturday as they squeezed past Leeds. They scored in the 1st minute and despite Chris Wood missing two guilt-edged chances, they remained solid and collected all three points.
Afterwards, Dyche branded scorer Scott Arfield as the best midfielder in the Championship. He certainly has been crucial and grabbed a number of important goals. With the Middlesbrough game on the horizon, they will want to win here to avoid giving their promotion rivals an advantage going into the game. His side are built on ‘old fashioned values’, they are tough to beat and they rarely change a starting 11.

Birmingham come off the back of a disappointing result on Tuesday night as they lost 1-2 to Leeds. It was poor from Gary Rowett’s side whose play-off hopes evaporated a few weeks back. They appear to be a better away side this season and got a decent three points at the Madjeski Stadium at the weekend.
There’s plenty to be positive about and there’s no denying that Rowett has done a great job and is highly rated by many in the game. They’ve picked up just four points from a possible 12 here and I think they may struggle to break down Burnley. Eight points from the last eight games is not their best run of form and their minds might now be on the summer.

Tomasz Kuszsczak should come back in to replace Adam Legzdins in goal. There’s a battle between Ryan Shotton and Paul Robinson for the right back slot. Clayton Donaldson scored in midweek and should keep his place in the team. Stephen Gleeson and Jon Toral will battle it out for a position in midfield.
Sam Vokes is rated ‘touch and go’ for Burnley. If the Welsh International fails to make it, Ashley Barnes or Rouwen Hemmings could be drafted in. Sean Dyche is unlikely to make any changes unless they’re enforced. David Jones is the only other doubt, but he could make a full recovery in time for this.
