Birmingham City v Bournemouth predictions and FA Cup betting tips for this weekend’s third round fixture and the best odds for our three bets.
Birmingham City welcome Bournemouth to St. Andrews on Saturday for this FA Cup Third Round tie and our Birmingham v Bournemouth preview includes our tipsters’ best three bets.
Birmingham v Bournemouth Predictions
Birmingham are in good form of late. They've only lost one in six, including winning the last three home games, and sit in eighth place in the Championship table. This season for the Blues has been completely different from last season's struggles and they are looking a good shout for a play-off spot.
As for Bournemouth, their results have improved recently. They were beaten away at Arsenal but that's their only defeat in the last eight in a run that has seen them move away from the Premier League's relegation zone. Manager Eddie Howe has hinted at changes for this one. Marc Pugh could start after returning from injury and Lee Tomlin and Yann Kermogant could also feature. Simon Francis will miss out after losing his appeal against his red card last time out against Leicester and new signing Juan Iturbe is still waiting on his work permit.
Birmingham boss Gary Rowett has said the only first team player missing through injury is Koby Arthur, and he might also reshuffle his pack with Adam Legzdins likely to start.
Who will win between Birmingham and Bournemouth? Bournemouth are of course favourites in the FA Cup betting odds for this one. The last time these two met at St. Andrews the Cherries absolutely destroyed the Blues winning 8-0. Of course that's not going to happen here (although if you did fancy it you're looking at well over 500/1…) In fact, I think Birmingham will nick this.
My first Birmingham v Bournemouth prediction is for Birmingham to win, the best odds for Birmingham to beat Bournemouth are 16/5 at Betfred.

It will be a close game though. With the priorities of both clubs lying elsewhere and with both managers intimating line-up changes it's a toughie to call. I just think that with the excellent recent home form of Birmingham and with Bournemouth resting a few the home side will do just enough to get through to the next round. I'm going into the handicap market for my second tip and going for Birmingham -1. A -1 handicap bet means we need Bournemouth to win by two or more goals.
My second Birmingham v Bournemouth prediction for the FA Cup third round tie is Birmingham to win (-1 handicap) and the best odds are 19/2 with Sportingbet.

It can be dodgy going against a Premier League side in the FA Cup, although this competition is known for its upsets. Whether those predictions come through for me or not, I do think Birmingham will cause problems. My third betting tip is for the home side to win at least one half.
My last football prediction for Birmingham v Bournemouth in the FA Cup is Birmingham to win at least a half at 29/20 with Unibet.
