Birmingham v Cardiff City preview and betting tips for Friday night’s Championship football fixture including three best bets and the odds for each selection.

The week-long Championship-fest continues on Friday with a quick turnaround for both Birmingham and Cardiff as they face one another at St Andrews, our tipster has picked their best three football tips.

Birmingham v Cardiff Predictions

Birmingham picked up a useful point at Preston on Tuesday night; a ground which has been a fortress of late for North End. At home, it’s a different story where they have struggled all season. Gary Rowett has added a lot more consistency to his side’s game and they really should be picking up more points at St Andrews.

They’ve picked up just a single point from their last four games here and have only won once since the 13th of September. They started the season handily, picking up seven points from their opening three home matches and unfortunately for Blues fans, it has only gone downhill since.

They are a decent side though and look like they could have an outside chance of play-offs under the impressive and very likeable Rowett. They’ve only lost twice all season away from home to Brighton and Hull. Last weekend they even kept Middlesbrough off the scoresheet in a 0-0 draw.

The visitors Cardiff have lost their defensive stability and have been involved in some high scoring, highly entertaining affairs recently. They got a valuable last minute goal against Brentford to win 3-2 at home on Tuesday and it was a big boost for Slade and his team, who have been blowing leads of late.

Worryingly for the Bluebirds, they’ve conceded two goals in all of their last five games, but they’ve found their shooting boots too. They’ve scored 10 in their last four matches and Kenwyne Jones got a double on Tuesday night. Anthony Pilkington seems to be back and firing and it’s looking much better in the offensive department for the Welsh side. Their last four results have been 2-2, 2-3, 2-2 and 3-2 and they have only lost twice since mid-September.

I think Cardiff can continue their good run for my football prediction tonight, it’s obviously a very happy camp at the moment and they can take advantage of Birmingham’s poor home form.

My first Birmingham v Cardiff prediction is for Cardiff to win (Draw No Bet). The best odds for this tip are Evens with William Hill.

Brum may not score lots of goals, but they have scored 26 already this season and with Cardiff’s current scoring spree, it’s enough to suggest that both teams could find the net here. As previously mentioned, Cardiff have been conceding and scoring for fun. Demerai Gray missed a glorious chance to win it for Birmingham at Preston, so they are creating chances. Cardiff have only conceded 22 goals all season, but 10 of those have come in the last five matches.

My second Birmingham v Cardiff prediction is for both teams to score. It can be backed at Evens with Coral.

Part of the improvement for Cardiff could possibly be put down to the arrival of Tony Watt. The former Celtic man was not wanted by Charlton for some reason, but is getting regular matches in South Wales and is starting to shine. He can be the man to unlock the Birmingham defence.

My third football betting tip for Birmingham v Cardiff this week is for Tony Watt to score anytime. He can be backed at 11/4 with Bet365.
