Football Accumulator Tips 23rd October
Villareal v Las Palmas – Villareal win
Our first accumulator tip comes from La Liga and despite their midweek exploits, I think Villareal can make it back to back successes at home. The visitors are Las Palmas, who have dropped off the pace recently. It’s no win in four for the visitors and they’ve drawn their last three games. Even at home, where they are traditionally strong, they have failed to pick up maximum points. Away from home, they’ve picked up just four points from four games with their only victory coming against Valencia back in August. Villareal have scored 10 goals in 4 home games and conceded just 2. They look very strong here and hit five against Celta Vigo last weekend. Celta Vigo has previously beaten Barcelona. The home outfit have shipped just four goals all season and should be very hard to break down. They should take all three points here.
Torino v Lazio – Draw
Two decent sides who have made impress starts to the new Serie A season. Torino have been extremely strong at home taking 10 points from a possible 12. They have Joe Hart guarding a goal which has been breached just three times in five games. Lazio have decent away form beating Udinese and Atalanta on the road this season, but this is a stiffer task. Their only away defeat though came at the hands of AC Milan and they should be able to battle their way to a point here. These sides shared the points when they met in March 2016 with the match ended 1-1. Torino have now scored 9 goals in 3 games and will be hard to stop, but Lazio have only lost twice this season and they were against sides who are in the top three.
Metz v Nice – Nice win
It does appear that we back Nice every single weekend, but they haven’t let us down yet and remain the only undefeated side in the league. They played in the Europa League on Thursday but shouldn’t need too much to see off Metz. The home side have lost three of their last four games in Ligue 1 and recently shipped 7 to Monaco. Nice beat their near neighbours 4-0 recently, so should have no problem finding a way past this suspect home defence. Mario Balotelli might miss this one through injury, but there is still plenty of firepower in the squad. Nice have only conceded 1 goal in 4 games domestically and look very strong. Metz have shipped 11 goals in 4 games and will surely struggle against the leaders.
Seattle Sounders v Real Salt Lake – Seattle Sounders win
These two are locked together in the Western Conference play-offs and both need the victory here to ensure the sides below them can’t leapfrog them. The home side edge it for me though as Real Salt Lake have won just four away games all season and have lost their last four, scoring just two goals. They lost to the San Jose Earthquakes recently at the Avaya Stadium where the home side have been hopeless this year. Seattle lost to leaders FC Dallas last time out, but there’s no shame in that as they’ve been excellent this season. Sounders need to find their goalscoring touch again after failing to score against Houston Dynamo, but they were down to 10 men in that encounter. RSL are not in play-off form and could struggle on their travels once more.
Sporting KC v San Jose Earthquakes – Sporting KC win
And a second selection from the MLS completes the accumulator. Sporting KC cannot afford to lose here. They have an chance of claiming the play-off place, but with Portland Timbers lurking, they need to make sure they collect a maximum yield here. They’ve been pretty decent at home, although they have drawn their last two. SJ Earthquakes have had a disappointing season and there is plenty for Dominic Kinnear to ponder during the off-season, but they are unlikely to upset the applecart here. They’ve won just once away all season and lost four of their last five matches on their travels. They’ve been struggling for goals all season and it’s easy to see why Sporting KC are the short prices favourites here.
