Football Accumulator Tips 21st October
Oostende v Kortrijk – Oostende win
Starting Belgium with a home win in the top flight. Oostende have won five of their 10 games so far with four of those coming here. They won away last weekend in a 3-2 thriller at KV Mechelen. They are incredibly strong here and should see off Kortrijk, who have been defeated in their last two away matches. They’ve picked up just the one victory on their travels so far and are far better on their own patch. They have managed to score in all but one of their away games and should make a decent game of it here, they are struggling to keep sides out and Oostende are scoring for fun. The hosts have scored five in their last two games and Knowledge Musona scoring two in two. Oostende should be too strong in front of their own fans.
Monaco v Montpellier – Monaco win
Hopefully there is no Champions League hangover for Monaco as it’s a quick turnaround following their trip to Russia. Jardim’s side picked up an important point against CSKA on Tuesday, but they are back at Stade Louis II here as they host Montpellier. The hosts are unbeaten here so far with three wins and a draw to their name. They’ve seen off 2nd place PSG, 7th place Rennes and 10th place Angers. Montpellier come into this fixture in 15th place, three points clear of the relegation zone. They picked up important an victory against Caen recently, but this is a much harder assignment. They are yet to be victorious away from home with just two points collected from four outings. Monaco have the squad depth to make a couple of changes here and keep it fresh. In an ideal world, they wouldn’t be playing on a Friday night, but they should have enough in the tank to take all three points.
Osasuna v Betis – Osasuna win
Osasuna are still in a fairly perilous position towards the bottom of the La Liga table, but they can come here with confidence after an impressive 3-2 victory over Eibar on Monday night. That was a strong result for the newly promoted outfit and they are scoring plenty of goals at the moment. They’ve now hit seven in four games with Sergio Leon netting four in his last six. Even when losing, they’ve been finding the back of the net and although clean sheets are a rarity, they should take all three points. Gus Poyet’s job is under scrutiny at Betis with some of the fans calling for his head in the recent 6-1 defeat to Real Madrid. They’ve won just once away from home and failed to score in their last two on the road. Another defeat here will not help Poyet’s case, but Osasuna are turning the corner and should be backed.
Tours v Valenciennes – Valenciennes win
Valenciennes come here sitting 7th in the table and off the back of two victories. They’ve now scored 7 in the last couple of games including hitting 4 at Strasbourg. The newly promoted side had started the season well and been solid, so hitting them for four is impressive work. They’ve lost just one of the last seven and should be backed away from home here. Tours are extremely poor and can’t find the back of the net. They managed a clean sheet at home to 17th place Orleans last week, but it’s hard to see them breaching the away defence. They’ve netted once in their last four and this will be a long evening for the home side.
Maritimo v Boavista – Maritimo win
Maritimo have won three of their last five games including their last two. They host hopeless travellers Boavista. The away side have netted just once on the road in three attempts, although they’ve had some difficult games. They beat bottom club Moreirense at home two weekend’s ago, but this will be much trickier. Maritimo have kept three clean sheet in five and conceded just three goals since the end of August. They don’t score copious amounts of goals, but they are efficient here and should be able to see off a fairly blunt Boavista side. The away side didn’t win any of their last four games of the previous season on their travels and won’t be relishing this one.
