Football accumulator tips for this Sunday’s coupon from around Europe including the Premier League, Ligue 1 and Serie A.
There may only be one Premier League game on Sunday, but there’s plenty of action from around Europe and beyond to get stuck into and we’ve picked out the best bets.
Nancy v Nice – Nice win
Nice have been mightily impressive so far in Ligue 1. Their dismantling of near neighbours Monaco, who were previous unbeaten was a very eye catching result and it seems they’ve pulled off a masterstroke with the signing of Mario Balotelli. The maverick Italian has been firing them in and they proudly sit top of the table. 4 wins and 2 draws from their opening 6 games is terrific and with PSG suffering from mixed form, they’re going to take some stopping. They’re away at newly promoted Nancy this weekend and Les Rouge et Noir will fancy their chances of getting their first victory here in five attempts. Nancy are just about keeping outside of the relegation zone, but are drawing too many games and have only scored a single goal here at home so far. Nice have a stable defence and should be able to keep them off the scoresheet. The creativity in midfield and finishing of Balotelli should get them all three points here.
Genoa v Pescara – Genoa win
Several matches to choose from in Serie A on Sunday, but Genoa should be able to grab all three points at home to Pescara. It’s been mixed for both of these sides, but Genoa impressively kept high flying Napoli off the scoresheet in a 0-0 draw. They beat Cagliari in their first home game of the season before seeing off bottom club Crotone. Pescara haven’t scored enough goals this season and couldn’t find a way past the ten men of Torino recently. They haven’t been bad at keeping sides out, but creativity is lacking away from home and they may come away with little here. Genoa have a few absentees in the striking department, but should have enough firepower to see Pescara in a narrow victory
Koln v RB Leipzig – Draw
In the Bundesliga, two in-form teams meet. Both have had very good starts to the season and they look well organised in defence. It’s early days still, but Koln have conceded just a single goal this campaign. RB Leipzig, promoted from Bundesliga II have surprised many people with a victory over Dortmund and being undefeated after 4 games. They’ve picked up two draws so far this season, one with Monchengladbach last weekend and an away point at Hoffenheim. They like to play on the counter attack and are quick going forward, but won’t be broken down easily. This could be a low scoring match with neither side willing to risk ending their unbeaten run.
Espanyol v Celta Vigo – Espanyol win
Both of these sides picked up morale boosting wins in midweek, but Celta Vigo won’t be relishing this trip. They rarely win here and haven’t picked up anything in 9 visits, stretching back to 2003. Espanyol are scoring goals which helped them overcome Osasuna on Thursday night. They were pegged back, but still had the firepower to come back and win the game. They have been drawing too many games, but their only defeat has come at the hands of Real Madrid. They’ve netted in all but one of their games so far (exception: R Madrid) and should find the back of the net here. Celta Vigo beat Gijon at home last time out after picking up two away draws in a row. They’ve only netted four times this season which is a concern and this could end in a narrow victory to the home side.
Anzhi v Zenit St Petersburg – Zenit win
A short price, but Zenit should win here. They have suddenly started to piece things together under Lucescu. They’ve hit 21 goals in their last 5 matches and after a shaky start, things have clicked together. This won’t be easy as Anzhi have made a decent start to the season, but not many defences could cope with the likes of Dzyuba, Guiliano, Kokorin and Shatov. Zenit have the bit between their teeth and even if their rivals decide to park the bus, they should find a way through. They’ve conceded just 1 goal in their last four matches in the league and cup and should be able to keep the pressure on Spartak Moscow at the top of the Russian Premier League.
