Both Teams to Score Betting Tips and Predictions 20th September

Both teams to score betting tips for the EFL Cup and Football League matches on Tuesday 20th September including reasons for each BTTS prediction on the midweek coupon.

Previous rounds of the EFL Cup have generated plenty of goals and we’re looking for a repeat of this in the first set of fixtures this Tuesday.

BTTS Tips 20th September

Leeds v Blackburn

Obvious starting point here. Blackburn have been a gift for Overs and BTTS this season as they cannot defend, but they have some decent attacking players. Marvin Emnes has been added and he linked up well with Sam Gallagher on Saturday as they ran out 4-2 winners against Rotherham. Rovers also hit the bar and they have the likes of Ben Marshall and Craig Conway in behind, who both scored at the weekend and are not afraid to shoot from distance. This is a fixture which was played last week and it ended 2-1 to the home side. Leeds have goals in them and a number of skilful players who can conjure up a moment of magic. At the back, they are improving, but I still think Blackburn can find a way through here. They’ve now scored in each of their last three games in the Championship and I think they can do so again here.

Nottingham Forest v Arsenal

Nottingham Forest have been good for BTTS this season and I think they should give Arsenal a good game here. The Gunners are likely to eventually progress into the next round of the competition but in front of their own fans, I think Forest can find a way through. Arsenal conceded to Watford, Southampton and Hull recently in the league and could be susceptible here. Forest have goalscorers in their side and Apostos Vellios has found his shooting boots. Britt Assombalonga is still to properly return from injury and Phillipe Montanier’s side are a very forward thinking outfit. Both teams have scored in each of the last 6 matches in the Championship and I think they will find the net here. Arsenal should put out a reasonably strong side and it should be enough to barge through a weak Forest defence which is yet to keep a clean sheet this season.

Everton v Norwich

Everton have improved remarkably under Ronald Koeman and they are scoring for fun. How strong a team he opts for here remains to be seen, but they should have enough firepower to find a way through Norwich’s defence. The Canaries have made a decent start to life back in the Championship under Alex Neil, but they are capable of switching off at the back as they demonstrated in the 3-0 loss to Birmingham. Norwich also have goals in the side and although they perhaps lack a top quality striker, they have goals in abundance in midfield. The likes of Jonny Howson and Wes Hoolahan are capable of find the scoresheet as are either of the Murphys (Josh or Jacob). BTTS has landed in 5 of the last 6 Norwich games in all competitions.

Scunthorpe v Charlton

Off to League One for our final selection at Glanford Park. Scunthorpe have remained resolute of late recently, but Charlton are pretty effective going forward. They took the lead through prospect Ademola Lookman at the weekend but were unable to hold onto the lead eventually losing 1-2 to AFC Wimbledon. Problems at the back for the Addicks still persist and suggest that Scunthorpe will find a way through here. Charlton possess the likes of Nicky Ajose, Ricky Holmes and Lee Novak who can all score goals and it could end 2-1 or 3-1 in favour of the high flying Iron.
